I have to admit that before I got bitten my the fish keeping bug I too was guilty of this. My lady wanted some fish and so off to the LFS we went. Not knowing anything about fish and not doing any research beforehand we took what the oke at the LFS said as truth and bought a 12Lt Hex tank with a black moor and a goldie :sick:. Luckily I found this site and some pretty awesome aquarium books so now the little guys in a 40Lt lightly planted tank (they just love to chow the plants!!). I know this is still seriously overstocked but their new 120Lt home will be finished by Thursday. :bigsmile:

All these pictures take me back to my first ever fishbowl (while nostalgic, I do realise where I went wrong). Was only a few months before I got a tank for them.

I actually really wouldn't mind keeping goldfish again - they make such great pets!

 

I got into so much trouble with gold fish and bowls. I bought a gold fish for myself and older sis put it in a bowl.After parading and some education I got him back and replaced him with 4 guppies

 

Gee, then you guys will freak if I tell you that I pulled the thermometer out of our lattice pool/pond with eggs and put it in with my panda eggs in the 1ft tank to hatch and start growing out. They started getting a bit too big for the 1ft so I transferred them to my 2ft with my molly babies so that they can grow out in time to go into the pond for their first winter. That is the only reason that I have them inside and in a heated tank. This is the first spawn that has been successful from our Comets and my mom is so excited that I managed to get them to hatch and live at all. I'll try and post some pics of the 3 of them.

I read the stories and am totally disgusted by the total lack of respect shown to all animals but, most of all I was disgusted by the government's total lack of interest in the various claims and their reluctance to prosecute the people necessary for the abuse.:motz:

What kind of country is SA becoming that there is no respect for animals, when does that become a total lack of respect for all people in general...? :motz:
