Agree with you that Mopani is still the best only problem i find is that you cant find really big pieces for big tanks
They all small to medium and i cant find big tall pieces that leave swimming space under them

Because of that, we resorted to vine, if you use really thick vine branches it stays hard and we havent had a problem
The thinner ones yes... sometimes with time they can start going soft

Just as a matter of interest and revolving around a few threads we had in the last couple weeks regarding cycling a tank.. with fish.. no fish.. using some mdia from another tank..
The use of Stability when setting up a new tank..

There was also a mention that a slight amount of ammonia and nitrite is normal ...
And the importance of adequate filtration for your bioload

This tank was setup from scratch and not an upgrade therefor I had no seeded media to transfer over and i couldnt risk taking too much media from another tank so I only took one about 2kg bag of ceramic rings from my pup tank and the rest resorted to faithful old Stability

The first fish went into the tank on the 13th December with Stability, no water changes for 7 days and a fish or two were added about every 3 days
First water change was day 8

Water was tested daily and not once did I have an ammonia reading, Nitrites i had 0.5 for the first couple days

I think it was on the 22nd December, Spooky who is about 57cm went in as well and i waited few days
After the initial doses of Stability which i did for 10 days instead of 7, I added Stability once every time a big fish went in

This tank has been running for just over 2.5 months, bioload, the video i will share speaks for itself

I did water tests before my water change on Friday

@MariaS What air pump do you use ? I am currently looking for a powerful yet silent air pump for my 920lt tank which is in my living room. Thanks in advance.

@MariaS used to use this one on one of the other tanks. Not sure if she still does but it might help you.
