Yes,used it when I first set up my 1.2 and had good results. The 1.2 has pool filter sand as a substrate and pfs is completely inert. The laterite really helps, specially in the beginning stages.
This tank does have Flourite as substrate, but Flourite only comes into it's own a few months down the line when it has absorbed some ferts.Again,I hope, the laterite will give the plants a boost.I think the crypts and the H.C. will benefit from it.

Thinking back now,I started the scape on the left because my HOB is on the left and the water flows from left to right. The scape kind of flows from left to right as well.Make sense?

It took just more than a month to complete the H.C. carpet, faster than I thought it would.
I will trim the "lawn" and the stems on the next week end and get them a bit more tidied up.
Got some Scarlet Badis as well and I'll take some photos of them in the week.

Wow... that is fast growth their Rudi. I don't see any fish in that tank, so can I assume you PUMPING CO2 and ferts to get that kind of growth?

    Thanks guys.
@Zoom,not really pumping the Co2 at the moment, about 1 bubble every 2 seconds or 30ppm with drop checker. And I'm half dosing my ferts as well.8 hour light period.Luckily no algae problems, only GSA on the glass but that is easily removed on water change day.
@boebie,I'm just going let it continue as is and trim the plants when it is needed. If I get some more interesting plants I'll replace some of them.
My biggest issue is to get suitable fish.

OK, so it would look like this, kind of
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vg3Xko6EgEw

I know they can colour up better than this, but I would rather go for a dozen cardinals or Chilli rasboras, if you can steal them.

    Those Chili rasboras are beautiful.
Depends on what's available,Celestials or Chilis, both are perfect.

    Update: New fish added.

I haven't done a update in a while so here goes.
I have found some Galaxy rasboras and Java rice fish and added them to the tank. They really suite the tank perfectly.
The plants are growing well, but in a manageable speed and I only do minimal trimming when it is needed.
This tank is now my favourite of three set ups and I can see it as a longterm scape.

The Galaxy Rasboras are stunning, I never see mine because they're always hiding. And wow, this setup has gorgeous plant growth! One of the important things here is that you've stocked shrimp-friendly fish for when the day comes that they're legalized :)

Initially my Galaxy's were also very reluctant to come out of hiding, but after introducing the rice fish I see them more frequently swimming in the open spaces.
Thanks for the compliments shihr and Whipme.
