Had a busy day. All my tanks are now done. Two of them still have to cycle a bit before I can add livestock.

Time for an update. All three tanks have settled in nicely. With some ups and downs. The bottom tank had a massive bacterial bloom which lasted about 3 weeks. I lost 2 apistogrammas in the blackwater tank. But after all of that it seems to be going better. I've probably got 50 baby Guppies in the bottom tank and I found some Apistogramma Panduro fry in the black water tank yesterday.

My Apistogramma fry. Hope the picture is clear enough.

And I got some new additions to the bottom tank as well.

I found some baby Occelatus Gold's this morning. Still very small, but the mother seems to be taking good care of them. I saw her breaking down larger food for the babies to eat.

That miniature spec is one of the babies. Saw at least 4 but they are hiding in a shell at the back of the tank so hopefully there are more.

Can't find them anymore. It was her first try so hopefully they spawn again.

C3DCA86B-0EB7-4636-800A-015A3807676D.jpeg Hi, I would like to get some advice from the talented aquascapers.

What can I do to make this tank look better. The java fern got introduced by accident and I can't decide whether I like it or not.

Another nice surprise. I added Crystal Red Shrimp to one of my tanks about a month ago. I don't have RO water, bus pass my CPT tap water through a carbon block filter and then allow it to stand with an air pump for at least 48hrs. When I added the CRS I was not sure if they would be fine, but one of the females are carrying so I'm super excited. Not sure if the picture is clear enough. Hopefully the babies are fine.

I’m so new to the planted tank scene that I’m only officially getting started tomorrow.

But I would argue that the java moss landed there exactly as it would’ve in nature (randomly), so if anything your scape is replicating a natural scenario

    So exciting about the babies!
And sounds like the shrimp are doing great.

    Quick ones:
    - add a background to hide the light switch
    - hide the heater better
    - trim carpet so that the smaller stones are seen

Would you like to stay with an iwagumi layout?

I ripped this tank apart after the holiday and finally managed to finish the planting tonight.
