    Thanks, .

Doing this full time so might as well experiment, will help everyone in the long run.

After I get this running smoothly, there are some other shrimp I have been looking at to breed.

Just need more Amano females, pref berried to run more tests in the other systems I have, but quite hard to find surprisingly.

When you get the Amanos right have a look at Bamboo shrimp.

    Looking at

    Red nose shrimp
    Bamboo shrimp
    Vampire shrimp

So they are deffos on my list.

Bamboo shrimp I’m finding it quite hard to find any information regarding raising them also have not found any successful reports.

Edit: well by successful I mean, I haven’t found an article even with someone being able to keep them alive for a day. But maybe I was just searching like my ass.

I’ll do some better research once I know I’ll be getting them within a month or 2

My guess would be to do it the same as Amano shrimp, at least for a starting point. They aren't as popular so its doubtful anyone has actually tried to do it.

Guess they aren’t as popular due to the fact that it seems like a pain to feed them. And not only feed them but keeping them healthy. I do have an idea for this tho, especially when it comes to plant matter they feed on. But that system is going to take a while to build and establish.

And to be honest, funds are going out real fast. So I need to work on getting some in at some point too lol, but thats a worry for the future, for now I just have to get my Amano’s going, then I’ll slow down a bit and let it stabilise.

I’ll probably only get some other “impossible to breed” shrimp sometime next year. Depending on how the Amano’s go.

What i heard is that bamboo shrimp require brackish water to breed successfully. Thus chances of a lucky breed basically zero

I’ve seen loads of guys get them to breed in full fresh water tanks, and get zoea, so that isn’t the problem. But none of them can get them to last longer than a day.

Soo that experiment is gonna take some serious time and funds. Which I don’t mind, just not now.

Got too much other stuff going on.

    Here we go again

Female Amano is dropping babies, I have added a couple to the system just to check and make sure they are happy.

Will remove the rest from the freshwater system tonight.
