Well Glass, Silicone and Polistyrene was almost R1300

Honestly, its cheaper to buy 2ft tanks than building them.

I'm amazed you manage to keep track of so many tanks. Just having 3 (of which one was a simple QT tank) was doing my head in! I'm very much a one tank (plus one pond!) person!
So awesome all the projects you have on the go.

Thanks Maria, still need to build 2 more of those and get 36 1.5ft tanks for the other side but that will come with time.

Hahaha, it keeps me busy, but when I’m not busy I go insane so I prefer it that way.

And I’ve never had a pond until now, and I have to say I love it.

Set up another tank today and moved over a ton of blue dream shrimp, still 50+ babies left in the breeding tub that I couldn’t catch so will grow them out for a bit before moving them.

Okay so I hit the goldfish breeding limit this week,

All the first fry are still going strong ranging from 4 cm - 2cm but all the new fry that are hatching are now being eaten by the goldfish that were born first. They get in between the hornwort so the new fry don’t really have a place to hide.

Had 3 spawns last week and you’ll see all the fry, a day later they are all gone.

Atleast I got some sort of population control haha.

So I’ll be able to successfully raise 3-4 spawns out of the 15 +- spawns I had up until now.

Its good as I wouldn’t have know what to do with 15 spawns once they all got to a decent size, but it also sucks as I love seeing the tons of babies and seeing them grow

Definitely going to have an issue if they decide to spawn more than once a week in the first 3-4 weeks next year.

I might add some sort of population control if it does become an issue tho.

No clue what to use for that as I would like to raise some babies but not all of them, I’ll cross that bridge when I get there tho

Been busy doing a little scape, wanted an open angle from 2 sides as I see the tank from both sides depending on what I am doing, and didn’t want anything in the way of my view.

Its about 30% complete, so still got a long ways to go before its done but we are slowly getting there.

Tank size is 56x45x30 with a 1000lph filter installed, running a lancia 2 light on it.

Stocked with blue dreams and amano shrimp.

Plants are currently just buce and I’m contemplating making this a buce only tank but we’ll see.

My red cherry tank is over 500 strong, blue dreams are on the slower side.

Ive dropped all my tanks temps to 21C from 24C and the cherries don’t mind at all but the blue dreams slowed down a ton.

    Sooooo,

    Sad news……

With all the power outages we have in our area (not loadshedding) I’m closing down all my tanks, I’m only keeping one tank.

I can not financially support running my genny on all the systems that I have anymore.

I do know there are other ways I could do it, but honestly with the amount of tanks I have, it’s just not worth it.

Buuuut, atleast I can spend more time on my display tank now and get that perfect. So I’ll still be updating on that.
