Ja, new piece in today. Will do a water test tomorrow.
So the piece of glass is 6mm 900X350. I went to a local glass shop (who shall not be named) and they wanted R270 for the piece! Thats R850 per square. Went to builders and they charged me R142 (R455 per square)

So with builders glass I can put together a 3 foot tank for:
    Glass: R511
    Silicon: R48
    Polystyrene: R40
    Total: R600 for a 3 ft tank

Last time bought glass from builders ... they wanted me to buy 1/4 1/2 or full sheets ... is your builders still doing single cut sizes at full sheet % pricing?

    Hi Ferdie
I've never experienced that with glass only with timber. Builders Strubens Valley and Malibongwe both sell glass per square meter. They usually pull an off-cut out the pile and trim it.

Shot thanks .. yeah it was Builders Strubens Valley that had me take a 1/2 sheet of 6mm not that I minded too much just had to make up some cut sizes at the point in time.

Will be interesting to see what they say when they do not have that off-cut.

I needed a beer after cutting the glass. It was like the "Death of A Thousand Cuts".
I cleaned the blood off the tank before taking the photo.
