New 3 ft Tank

a bit too permanent for me

 

I'm moving end of May, and by then my JD will have cleaned out the majority of my Danio so I'll just get him a temporary home while I replace the scratched front panel of my tank and paint the rear panel... Black perhaps...

 

With regards to the river sand, is it easily available at any LPS?

having said that, the substrate used in the Pic i posted does look like a good option...

 

Ok ...so regarding the back bround.....im going to go with Singu's idea and paint the outside of the glass with black, i dont mind that its permamnent cause Black is very generic and should go with any decor i place in the tank and i think the colour will go very well with the slate and PFS cause of the drastic contrast.....will take pics

and im going on saturday to look at some pieces of slate....heheehe....this is very exciting.....

 

River sand should be easily available from your plant nursery.

 

i will mix in a bit of the substrate, like the one in the pic, to add a little more colour.

 

This is what mine looks like: (sorry for dirty glass!) The little pebbles collect as the fish move the substrate around, I really like how natural it looks.

Cool....so i got my substrate and Slate pieces (from Laracroft) at a great price...the substrate is about 4cm deep in the tank...more in some areas.

now im waiting on the Filters from Jungle Aq.

I painted the Back of the Tank with a nice Dark blue

here are some pics of the progress thus far.

Im waiting for the marine silicone to cure and then i will start filling up the tank with water, i will have to first make sure that i did clean the stones sufficiently, so i may have to do a water change.....gonna take things slow.

So a 2 week wait before i put any fish in the tank.

Thought i would post my updated 3ft Tank pics. Finally put my breeding pair of Angels in, been quite a wait. I had some Bronze Cories in the tank for a week and they very happy.

Lets hope to see some little Angels swimming around soon....
