Welcome, and good luck with your setup.

Your yellow mbuna is Labidochromis caeruleus.
Your blue mbuna is Pseudotropheus demasoni.
Your "camouflage" hap is Nimbochromis venustus.

    Do some research, and enjoy!

Welcome to TASA! So... are you thinking about a 2nd tank yet? :) It will happen, trust me! Whatever you do now, do not get more fish while you cycle. You need to get the ammonia and other nasties under control. You may want to invest in an ammonia (NH3) test kit. Regular water changes (twice a week in this instance), will also help to keep the ammonia under control. That way you won't lose any fish. A larger tank will also be a definite requirement in a short while. Malawi's cannot be kept long in a 20liter tank... don't worry though. You'l find a use for the small tank as well. It's an ideal nano tank with a Beta!

Do you guys agree with my assessment? I'm still basking in the wisdom of the other members here :)

    Sent PM with LFS details.

I have 4 little featherfin catfish with my Malawis and one Apple Snail. So far so good.

Hi, those three species are perfect, as they will generally not fight with each other. But as ortega mentioned, try get all your fish around the same time, as mbunas do not like new comers.

Regarding your setup, try get rocks and make some caves for them. and just make sure that the rocks are sitting on the bottom of the tank, as these guys really like to dig.

Thanks. Moved them all to the big tank last night. They look very happy. PH 7.8 @ 26°C
One jumped out when I moved over and didn't survive. Was one of the Venustus :-(

You, can be quite surprised by what those little buggers are capable off. They are also very very fast swimmers, hear mine about twice during the last week when they jumped up against my canopy, gave my little dog a huge fright early one morning. She barked so aggressively we thought there was someone trying to break in.
