I know it's a few pages late, but I've got tons of that "japanese" moss that makes the moss balls. I'm totally willing to trade some for other types of moss, and I'm in Centurion :) :)

Ain't gonna happen Peter. Nano's take MONTHS to get even to a semi decent looking stage. I'm willing to bet Vis is gonna keep this one under covers for a few more weeks.

Hey guys Zoom is right it is going to take some time to get a real affect so you can see the difference so no new photos right now.

Still waiting for some moss but so far it will be Taiwan, Christmas, Weeping, Flame ,Us Fissidens and Willow moss. Maybe some erect moss.

Only waiting for the ones in purple.

Will post pics as soon as there are some changes.

hi Vis only got caught up in this thread now, awesome stuff thus far. just a few questions, did you use a diamond tip bit to drill the tank, and do you get alot of noise on the overflow being so high above the bottom of you little sump/filter section. im trying to do a similar type filter section but was thinking of making it the same height as the tank.

    Hi

I took it to a glass place and they drilled it with those hollow dril bits they have.

Not a singl sound, not even the sound of moving water. The water return is very low so the water only tricles down the overflow.

Smart plan, was going to change mine to the same setup as this allows little more space for the pump and heater. Mine fits but with the evaporation I need to top it up alomst every day so I would like the pump to be a little deeper.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having to top up my nano. I swear I loose more water per day on that small thing than I do on the main display tank! Top up every second day with a litre.

One only realize how much water evaporate, when you need to top-up a small tank every second day! Good luck with the Nano's and keep us updated!

That is why I need to build the "sump" all the way to the top. If I forget to top up the heater gets exposed :0

Added some more moss and will post pics as soon as it starts growing.

Hi Viking, contact the Prof Dirk on this site. He is somewhere close to you and can offer you
about 5 types if he has enough.

Hey guys/gal, the tank was taken apart because I had to change the design and build it a cabinet..>>>>>>>>>>

Well the tank is still being redesigned and cabinet also still in desing. The rocks are al over the place in my tanks and the moss grew quite nice.

Not sure if I am going to put it back the way it was though. Still going to fill it with moss. Taking my 3ft apart and with that a 3ft wall of moss.
Want to see how it looks if I take that moss wall and cover the Floor and 3 sides of the 1 ft with moss. Kind of a moss cube. Maybe also a rock :)

If you guys were closer you could have picked up the rocks with moss on it and gone ahead with the scape.

I did not get all the moss I wanted too so I could not complete the whole scape like I wanted to. Did try very hard though.
