i think the article said that a certain percentage of the correct light get's filtered out by the first few cm of water, and that this percentage is much higher with glass on top. It's a catch 22... loose water, or loose light.
Not all hobs need to be primed. I recently discovered this chatting to Dolphin.

Even the tiniest of internal filters "clutter" up a Nano tank. I'm planning on hiding all my stuff behind my moss wall.
CO2 is an option.. but again... you dealing with very small volumes of water. 1 drop per second of CO2 into a 100litre tank might be great, but how do you get a 10th of a drop into a 10litre tank?

Hi Mamoo I doubt you will find one in S.A but someone we all know as Dolphin can source them :)

Thanks, glad that someone finds my idees inspiring :)

Good to know but going to try the "sump" idee first to help get rid of my heater too.

    The Nano challenge :)

You can buy smaller heaters and filters so they are cheaper :)

Join in so we can get a Nano section.

The filter yes... not the heater. I paid R125 for my mini heater. Probably ripped off, but they the only people I could source it from!

For the filter, do you get an internal one that hides the heater for a 15l? did a quick
search but didnt find the ones where you can put the heater in.

If you do i think it would take up a bit of space so wont be using that idea.

Just a quick remark. I think most of the lighting people can say " told you so " but my personality profile did say I would always challenge the status quo.

Have a other Nano setup with some moss.
Decided to go the CFL route.
Used a 8000K lamp and got nothing but algae and no growth out of the Moss.
Switched to a 2700K and got nothing at all.
So no going for the 6500K to see what the effects will be.

    Just some info.

With the 6500K I'm almost convinced you will get growth dude.

Actually there is, the moss has grown a small bit since it had to get aclimated first.
Still need a few species to round it off but found a contact and I just need to get the payment sorted.

Will include a few interesting mosses.

Build in the little sump to the back and its working like a dream, just need to get a cover for the evaporation .

Will post pics of this later tonight hopefully.

Return in the back is a small filter and I blocked the return halfway so the water push up the aeration pipe.
