    No problem Matte

    Thank you tim.

They were all getting along great until I done the change... The smallest of the group got the beat down of his life, he is full of ripped up fins. Luckily everything seems to have settled now. I hope it stays that way becuase he is pretty beat up, another beating like that and Ill be scooping out a dead fish. Strangely enough, all the fish are ignoring him now as if nothing happened. Maybe he learned his lesson.

Thanks again, I hope so. Things are starting to look very active, I am hoping there is a fertile male and female in the tank, if so I should get some fry by the end of the year : ) There are only about 5 or 6 fish in the group reaching spawning size now.

If you look in the pic, he is the first fish on the left. Pitty you cant see the damage, it's rather serious. Missing chunks of fin and scales all over his body. If he doesnt get another beating he should pull through though.

Hi there bud, I was into my Reef tanks as well. I started off with a 1.5ft trigger tank (fowlr). I later sold the tank because of space issues and started a 600mmx600mm600mm Zola garden. I loved my marine tanks, the costs just got way out of hand.

Trophs are freaken awesome fish! There is just something captivating about them. I'm as hooked as I could ever be. Taking many factors into consideration, including costs I can honestly tell you I enjoy my Trophs more than my marine tanks I had.

Here is a small update of the colony. Everyone is doing well! There growth has slowed down allot though.

Excuse the quality! I was in a rush, just took them with my iPad. Still want to get some good quality pics so you guys can see there true colors. They awesome....

Sorry for the delay reply. I ordered them from animal kingdom. They go for around R100.00 a fish. The big problem with them though is from the pet store to your your house. I once bought 13 Dubois's, 11 of them died in the first 24 hours. That's R1100.00 down the drain!!

If you going to get, make sure the Lfs keeps them for at least a week. Even if you have to make excuses as to why you not collecting :) They have a tendency to bloat when stressed so that period should lesson the chances of them bloating on you. I would also suggest acclimatising them very slowly using the drip method. About 1 drop per second, using at least double the water volume of the bag they came. Should take around 2 and half hours or so. Just try make sure the temp doesn't swing too much. They allot more tolerant to temp swings than ph swings though.

Since doing the above I have not lost 1 troph. Touch would

    Thanks @bmwkp.

Just a update. About 3 months ago I changed the substrate to crushed coral. Around a 2 months ago I started fighting a green water problem... It's been making me go mad. This is what I have done so far combating it:
    1. Tested the water, nothing obvious.
    2. Started doing 30% water changes ever second day. This would help lesson the symptom but it was not solving anything.
    3. Tried a three day black out 3 times. Each time the water is crystal clear just after the black out, a day later... You guessed it. GREEN. Stopped trying this, I just feel too bad starving my fish....
4.Done some more searching, noticed my phosphates are threw the roof! Tried to figure out where it was coming from, tested tap water and it was clean. Left some crushed coral in a glass with tap water and clear glass with tap water for a day or so. Crushed coral glass phosphates were through the roof.
    5. Removed crushed coral from the tank.

I also got sick of the space the juwel filtration was taking up so I removed it from the tank. I replaced it with a tetra EX1200 canister filter. Very happy with it, much better buy than other units in its price range. So far the water seems to be stabilizing but there is still a green haze in the tank. I'm hoping a couple of water changes will solve it.

I ended up with 50% arag 50% crushed coral. The arag I bought was just too fine. It was a nightmare to clean the tank without removing the arag.

Thanks darkfin. It's just a picture. The picture got wet which caused it to curl giving it that 3d look :) or maybe I'm looking at a glass half full!

I ended up breaking this tank up. I pushed a blade through the silicone by mistake. Had to find a home fast so I ended up giving them away:( I have since repaired the leak. This tank is now a planted tank....

Here's a quick pick of what it looks like now. I'll open a thread about it later. A bit scapeless ATM....
