Ok, so I'm in the game again. They spawned yesterday at around 16:00. No white eggs this time.

@Adhil sweet, hopefully you'll have eggs soon. Are they a new pair or have they been successful before?

Are you going to wait to see if they are male and female or are you going to cube them?

Sorry guys was planning an update when I got home. Some of the eggs has gone a amber yellow, don't know what that means, and they picked off some white ones during the night but the red majority was still there this morning. One thing that I picked up on is the color of the fish. They are getting darker with every spawn. With their first couple of spawns they didn't change color at all. Now they are getting very yellow around the belly and gills right before they lay with a dark halo on the fins, then the body goes a dark grey.

Will give another update when I get home, I hope to see some eyes then but lets see.

Ok, so I've placed the original pair back together again as the big one is the egg eater and started beating the wife. After a week of shaking and aiming there was no eggs laid by the original fish so don't think its a female after all. Lets see what happens. They acted all lovey dovey immediately so things are looking good.

@BoelderBeestie Dont you think you should maybe get some of that netting stuff that they put over the cones to prevent the parents from picking at the eggs? Apparently what i have heard is the reason for that is to prevent the parents picking off dead eggs and damaging good eggs in the process, but im sure it will also stop the parents from eating all the eggs as well?

@WadeSmith was thinking about grating the eggs but want to give them a chance first. They are still youngsters and learning as they get further with every spawn. Will do it if they get stuck with the egg eating habit.
