The move didn't go well, they won't tolerate each other so after giving them a few hours to sort themselves out things just got worse so I moved them around to the original line up. Things improved instantly and fish are shaking like crazy, I might have eggs again soon. Seems that separating pairs for a while puts their game on.

My fish in the cube laid eggs again yesterday at 12:00. Some of the eggs where orange/yellow this morning not the usual white that they normally turn to when they are dead. Will see after work if they pecked them off or not, first time I see them turn this color, about 80% are still red though.

Here they are laying the eggs.

@Adhil Yeah me too this laying and eating is getting pretty old haha. I'm not going to do water changes this time, when I look back, when they started keeping the eggs for a few days they would always eat them after a water change or a few hours after. I don't think my barrel water and tank water is 100% the same and is causing them to try and spawn again. I will need to get better tools to test as the strips are not showing a difference. Going to leave them alone for 3 days and see if it that's the cause.

I did a water change and then she spawned, I notice with my female as soon as there is a drop in temp then she spawns. I have her in with a new male so they still pairing up he didn't fertilize the eggs because when I got home around 21:30 on Saturday sh was laying but he was not interested

Hope your next one is successful. Do you have any pics? Would like to see the fish in the breeding setup to compare with mine and see if I missed anything.

Our setups are the same, I also added a corner filter on Saturday with ceramics(pre seeded) and floss to help with particles, the sponge on it's own didn't keep the water crystal but now it is like yours. I've seen that all that uneaten food particles grows fungus so now at least I'm keeping them in a place I can get to them all. The surface also became oily from their slime, now the filter is getting that too.

    And now we wait......again.

I only find slime in my aqua clear, the corner filter seems to be slime free

Mine is skimming the surface so it's catching it nicely now. It's a modded dophin TF-300. The aerator filters don't seem to have enough power to suck up the slime.

Awesome man, 2 spawns = double the chance of a successful spawn.

Aaaand they ate the eggs haha. The males are to young as I could see nicely now and the eggs where not fertilized. According to everything I've read on them you should be able start seeing black dots where the eyes are forming and this never happened. They all just turn white in the end and gets chowed.
