@Francois - I think they're around 4-6 months old, I "harvest" multiple batches from the tank when I remove them from the parents.

No stress @Nawaaz - didn't recall telling you so I thought I'd save us all some time and answer direct.
The size difference becoming obvious then? Shouldn't be too long before you can be sure.

Apologies for delays on responding to a few questions, really hectic this side lately.
The Similis should be ready in 6-8 months or so, they seem to grow fairly slowly compared to Multies, let's just hope we can get a few more spawnings going, first pair have been slow to produce again.

Your tanks are looking very neat there, nice and uniform and I like the wood between levels!
A bit high maintenance for my fish room I think. What kind of background are you going to use?

A rock and maybe a Java fern / Anubius should complete the scaping for the shell dwellers, they're mostly used to open sand and shells. Multies don't need the sand....

Cool. Yep they were basically all similar sizes but can see 3 of them are double the size of the 2 smallest. 2 smallest don't seem to be occupying any shell . the rest have claimed their own shells.

No Problem . Okay hopefully the other 2 available tanks don't get occupied by other species during that time lol.
Thanks man gives me the lfs feeling just on a neater level. I'm sure you can workout something in you fish room...rack upward and even add more tanks?

I will use photo paper plain fading blue and maybe rock background.
I think il just add some java fern. Multies tank have least sand and mostly shells.

@Nawaaz and everyone else for that matter: Have you tried plants in your breeding tanks? I personally run only about 2 hours light in my breeding tanks to keep algae under control - that way you just have to bottom vac and not clean glass so often... (and of course eskom...) I only keep low-light plants but they still suffer.

@Franscoisve I have almost no experience with aquatic plants lol. I use to keep java fern and moss in my main tank. I stopped keeping the java moss cause it gets stuck in filters etc. Only reason i kept it cause they are hardy plants.

@Jackstone i recently got a pair of adult ocellatus who never bred before .when I added them in there own tank male was aggressive so I added her with my others. She swims with other females and my small male Doesn't bother her Although there was an initial territory fight. ..half her size and he won. Anyway so the large male is in a tank alone . When I get a pair formed in the other tank do i place the left over females with him? How would i introduce them?
