Hmmm sounds good. I guess you must keep something a surprize hey? No problem. Are you going the single light route or double? If you want to put two tubes on the bracket a modification to the top can be made to house two PVC pipes instead of one.

Nice looking setup! love the light! Ho did you connect the light to the fittings? Where did you get the fittings? Is the condensate not a problem?

Hi @bylaag, Thanks. I used my old T8 light fitting that comes with leeds that connect to the Tube. Will take a picture of the inside of the light so you can see how it works. Very simple setup if you use the right type of ballast for the light. I still had the light brackets from the T8. Screwed them into the PVC pipe and clipped the ends of the screws off that was sticking out on top and used a File to smooth the surface.

Condensate is an issue yes. But on that size tank it isn't too bad. Can top it up with 500ml daily. 30Ltr tank.

I actually meant Isn't the condensate a problem with the light fitting?

After buying a cheap aquirium light from a LFS and the fittings rusted away i decided to make my own. Used perspex tube and sealed it, so condensate, no problem.

Afterwards I read somewhere on the forum that perspex stops some of the "important" light. Looked impressive and worked quite well, lightsaber in a tube!

@bylaag. Condensation not a problem. Light fitting is bone dry inside. I used tinfoil on the inside for reflection.

The inside doesn't look too special, but it works. My Rotala grows and the Hornwort is going crazy in the tank.

Thanks man. Very simple yes. It must have taken me 2 hours at most to complete. And that includes drying time for the paint. It works. That's all that counts.

Decided to change the Nano completely. Playsand was a massive flop. Put normal gravel in the tank. And the plants are different. Easy growers in the tank. Will update when it looks a bit better again.

Thanks Marc. It's a bit empty. I suffered a loss aswell yesterday. My one BGR got stuck between the heater and the glass. When I got home I saw he was missing. As soon as I freed him from the heater I could see he wasn't gonna make it. So now I'm gonna have to search for a female GBR.

Dude, that's awful. I know the feeling. When my male got sucked against the corner filter on day 1 I thought he wasn't going to make it (he did) but 2 days later I lost the female. Boo Hoo. Wonderful character in these fish. I hope you come right in your search.
