My newest betta fish: a black-purple copper round tail crossed with a HM

    Yes @Skye01 it is so sad.
    I don`t know why the females aviod him. He may have a huge body but he build a nest and he is not that aggresive. I had a male that was far more aggresive than this one. I am feeding my females well hopefully one of them will breed with this male.

    Finally I got one of my stubborn females to spawn with him! They started at about 2:16. At first she release no eggs but now there are about 3 or 4 at a time.

    The spawning stop at 3:45. When I look at them the female had went back to her container and slip in. It is big enought for her to slip through but not for the male. Then the male came to her and gave her a flare ( not a very friendly one though!) and went straigh to the nest. I estimated about 40 eggs. Not much but at least there are eggs.

    He ate all the eggs. Only 5 survive and 1 fry hatch.
    He is now in the spawning tank again with one of the yellow CT females. She seem willing to breed and he has started a nest.
