    Hi Marco,

I understand you fully, I think we reached an understanding haha.

I definitely agree with you on that part, all Im trying to say is, if one done ones research why discourage them, but not to jump into something you know nothing about. That will be a disaster.

    Friends? haha

    Regards

    Hannes

    Hi

@Vissie - Friends? Of course - as long as you admit Jedigenie has nicer Discus than you. . . hahaha (Just kidding)

@Vis - I DIDNT! The pics were posted loooong ago. You just never looked at them! Not to worry - @jedigenie will keep us up to date on the progress of these dudes - I am hoping for astonishing results in the next couple of months.

    JUST KEEP FEEDING Genie!

    Marco

Caving to pressure here are some pics I took tonight.

1st pic is of the fish that took a journey down to the sump. Its recovery has been nothing short of astonishing.

2nd pic was taken during feeding time. Ravenous pigs I tell ya

3rd pic was taken just before feeding when they were anticipating food. They recognize me as the food bringer (howz that for developing a god complex :D)

4th pic is of the leader of the group. Amazing high body fish and so far been the fastest developer.

    Enjoy folks

    Hi all, quick update.

Pretty hard to show just how much they have grown since there is nothing in the tank to compare it to.

Clearly time to clean the glass too :)

Gotta just add that these guys are the single best experience Ive had wrt to fishkeeping. Loving every minute I spend staring at them

Dang dude... Body shapes are AMAZING + what I can make out from pics of 5 weeks ago till now, freakin astonishing growth!! Lovely to see that Y - bar from the Daddy being passed on(2nd pic above - fish to the far left)

So refreshing to see "natural" Discus being allowed to develop into their colours at their own pace - not these highly coloured up runts from the East you see everywhere....

Even a completely untrained eye can see how much they've grown... fish envy, fish envy, fish envy...

    They are BEE_OOO_TI_FULL !

...and I gotta agree with Azure... don't like those disco-coloured discus much...

@tracyp & @azurekoi - I like these guys for their subtlety. The colour is there but its not super enhanced and in your face. I discover something new to admire about them every day

    Hi

I'm real glad to hear such good things about these guys. Crazy to think that just a few months ago they were "ants" in a ice cream bucket, and I was getting up every 2 hours and rearranging my life to feed them.

@azurekoi - the dad is actually not the Y-bar you remember. Thats their "uncle". Unfortunately, and I do not know the reason, these guys dad died a week ago. He was perfect in the morning, dead in the afternoon. Thats just Discus I suppose.

Colour on these guys will really only come out once they reach that magical 10cm mark. From then on the red in the dorsal and anal fins will become more pronounced, and the striations in the head and body region will become darker. Being completely Parasite free, I am really keen to see the eventual size these guys achieve, I am hoping for 20cm at least - the dad was a monster as is, so them being treated as well as Jedigenie has done can only help.

Please keep the pics coming Jedigenie, they are really nice. Well done!

    Rgds

    Marco
