Just for the record, getting a bigger tank is not a cure for the urge to overstock. Ask me, I know... Looking good though.

My Pathos plant in my HOB filter has been growing exceptionally well since I removed the Chinese Lucky Bamboo I am guessing they were trying to out compete each other. Loads of new leaves popping up all over the place:

Also something has been having a munch on my Crypts, problem is they don't eat it whatever is doing it just tears up the leaves. Been watching my tank for 3 hours strait trying to catch the culprit but nothing so far...

I don't mean to be clever but I can just imagine sitting there for 3 hours staring and suddenly jumping up going "aha!"

I've had Tetras tasting plants before but not all the time...

So my Pathos has been growing really nicely, but some of the runners have become so heavy that they have been snapping off so I attached the longest ones too a piece of gut and a block of wood with a screw in it.

lol no it is just a piece of wood with a wood screw in the middel of it. Since I cannot drill holes in the wall for it I put it ontop of my speaker.

Urk I hate it when my fish spawn and I cannot provide them with another setup to do it in. My German rams spawned again this morning so did my Panda Corry's and by the looks of it my Galaxy Rasbora are also up to something...

So I made a pretty big choice and change too my tank today, I have been having and on and off battle with GSA (Green Spot Algae) since I started my planted HOB filter. I am figuring my Pathos I had planted in the filter was growing at a faster rate than any of my aquatic plants taking up the nutrients especially the KH2PO4 (Phosphates) the lack of phosphates causes GSA to bloom. I also noticed that my plant growth has become a bit stagnant over the past few months so hopefully this will remedy the problem. I will keep an eye out on my water condition throughout the week to make sure my tank can handle the bio load.

I still think a planted HOB is a great idea but not so much if you are running a fully planted tank. Will see if I can notice any difference in the coming months.

Removed the green crypt I had growing on the left and replaced it with some brown variants that I bought @ Lifestyle Pet Hyper for R80. Worth the 80km trip..Planted the new plant on the left hand side and moved the green crypt back too it's mother plant:

Tested my water parameters today 3 days after removing the plants and all seems well, PH, Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates:

They are some of the best cameras out there... I had a friend shooting with a Sony R800 jobbie, and man there were some stunning picks that came out of that camera.

Never disrespect a point and shoot...
