the tank is running for almost 3 months now, i had most of the fish in a 100 liter before and changed over to a 4foot tank. i replaced the gravel monday and sseded it with my canister and internal filters. no problems so far. i know i know i added to much fish to fast but its because i didn't know any better, thats why i ask on TASA these days before adding any fish. Example some members told me that chinese algae eaters causes problems, i removed them and problems was solved directly.(they were chasing and sucking my fish)

It's one of the spiny eel types. Perhaps google around and find out which type? They can look quite similar but some get huge and there's one or 2 species that stay small.

Mollies may nip the fins of the gouramis.I think you must decrees the mollies to 5(2male 3female)Get more tetras at least 6 of each. And also reduce the platys to 5(2 male 3 female)

I personally think you are not heavily stocked yet, you can add another 5 Albino corydora get 1 more bronze Corydora

Should be fine then, they like to be in schools of 6 or more.

Sure you could even add a few more.

You could up your groups on the tetra also minimum group of 6.

I know one of the tasa members had the following in his 4 foot 25-30 Tiger barbs and 20-25 Rednose rummies.

So you can still add a few fishes.

    Good luck.

oky, what is the max my tank can handle? Just want to know plus minus that i don't end up with 20 cories and i can't handle them, because they are my favourite!

Well let me say this if you only feed your fish once a day skip a day once a week. Then your bio load will be very low.

Most of us overstock our tanks anyway, one more thing the more filtration you have the better.

You could easily have 20 corydoras in your tank with no issues just add them in small groups maybe 5-6 fish a weekend.

    Build the group up slowly.

Oky, update: I removed a leopard danio, chinese algae eater and 2 male gourami's. Everything looks fine now, no fish being bitten or anything. I'm going to wait and see what happens now.

2 months ago I used normal blue daro aqua dechlor. That blue stuff. I stopped using that for about two months now, I'm only using seachem prime now. I see my matrix in my canister is turned purple. I don't want to remove it because its expensive. Will my bacteria survive?

oky, no fish losses anymore, everything is going smooth, except that i get high readings of nitrates. i feed much less than i did before but my nitrates don't want to drop. it reads 50ppm and after a water change 5-10 ppm, two days later 50 ppm again.

That is very weird dude, their must be something in your tank that is causing this. Maybe their is a rotting fishy somewhere lying underneath a rock.

What food are you feeding them? Tetra, sera?

i worked with my sand yesterday, to make it look better and removing some sand because 12cm thickness is way to much for me, its now about 6.5 cm in the front and 8cm at the back, while doing this i removed everything and did not get any dead fish. im feeding ocean nutritional community pellets and ocean nutrition veggie flakes. i will test my water again after 2 or 3 days. i want to keep up with water changes through the week but how much? how many Times?
