Dude that Corn plant looks like Dracaena, if it is, its non aquatic, and will only last a few months under water.

    the rest is looking sweet!

    congrats!

Noooo Dont!!! Draceana's are mildly poisonous... You also seem to have a Spathiphylium in there - another non aquatic - take it and the draceana out and plant them in pots - both make nice house plants...
Also, your Windelov Java fern will eventualy die if planted like that... Take them out from hyout gravel and tie them with some cotton thread to your rocks and driftwood - the rhizomes will rot if planted under the sand...

Damn these plants are making me crazy. They told me the plant there behind the rocks is an amazon sword...

About the java ferns - I din't know that. Thought most ferns's roots and rhizomes are under the ground. Thank for letting me know. I'll see what I can do.

Great. I see now that amazon sword looks a bit different :(

Would I be able to take the 2 non-aquatic plants back?

Spathyphilium is sometimes known as a Brazilian Sword plant - thats where the confusion sets in.... try taking them back and swopping them - that you will have to check with the LFS....

mmm OK I'll see what I can do.

OK I tied the rhizomes of the java ferns to small rocks, so the rhizomes aren't in the sand anymore. Doesn't look too bad.

BTW we have some of the plant above on our stoep and it's BIG! I also have a smaller one in my room :p

The tank is looking better now - I quickly planted the plants Monday before going, but re-planted some of it and tied the moss better with some fish line.MY water lily is making another leaf too :)

Some algae actually started growing on the glass- a good sign to me. Kinda means the tank is "alive". I'll try to get some more fish in soon.

Something I spotted when visiting a lfs in Parklands, was that they have 2 Jewel Chichlids and it looked as if there were some fry too. Aren't they blacklisted? What should you do? I would really like to jhave them

And kill your other fish .... and keep on Breeding and breeding.....

If you like small cichlids, rather go for some Kribensis or Apistogramma dwarfs.....at least with them you can have them breed in a 3 foot tank and not kill all your other fish...
