I've still got the smell. I think I don't have enough ventilation on the cabinet wrap.
Do you guys just drill holes or use a fan?

I also had a musty smell coming from my one tanks. I tried everything and then someone siggested that it could be the plants. Well, I took them all out and the smell was gone. I replaced the plants with new ones and the smell has never come back. Looks like your plants are in pots. Maybe you should remove them and put them somewhere safe, do a 25% water change (siphon the gravel well) and see what happens.

    Kathie,

If I look at your previous thread, I would say that your tank is heavily loaded with fishes which would stimulate algal growth. I do not know which medium you have the in plant pots but that may have gone rotten. Take out the pots and smell what gravel, perhaps you should dig into the gravel. You should try to remove as much of the algae from the tank, but if you have an algal problem, I will repeat, blue green algae and brush algae have a strong smell and will continue to smell unless you clean the algae away, clean the filter and do regular water changes.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk
