@DoubleDutch if I may ask, what do you feed newly hatched cory fry?
The eggs in my 44L are still there and are fertilized as I see dark spots growing. Who knows, I may get lucky and just want to be prepared. Not planning on setting up a separate tank for the eggs/fry at this stage.

Microworms gave me the best result.
But the first time yiu can try powdered shrimppellets (soak it before usage). Keeping the water clean ia even more important.

Seems like MTS sets in rather quickly.

I started off by only wanting to build one custom sized tank due to space constraints - 850x450x450 (which I broke before being able to use it as per my other thread )

I then ended up with a small tank I got from a buddy which has become the lightie's tank...

And then very impulsively I bought a 3ft tank a few days ago [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    Fantastic natural environments
Do you keep your cory species in separate tanks? Would some of the more closely related ones interbreed if kept together?
I know you said earlier that you have 10 cory species at the moment, how many tanks do you have and what sized tank do you like for them? The last pic in particular looks like quite a big tank.

Yeah that's correct. I've some species from the aeneus-group which will "crossbreed".
I've two 1 meter tanks, which are my favourites (the last one is one).

I've 8 tanks running (one only with shrimp and snails at te moment) and 5 spare ones (40, 60 and 80 cm)

Thanks sho that’s a lot of tanks  do you keep them in a fish room or scattered across the house?

Suppose the extra ones come in handy when you suddenly need them for breeding or quarantining?

Do you regularly collect eggs and raise fry in separate tanks, or do you get fry hatching and growing out with the adults in the tank? I know (or it seems as if) you had a Peruvian baby growing out with the adults at least - does it happen quite regularly?

I have one sparebedroom made into a fishroom. They are all there.

I've bred the Bronze twice but couldn't hardly get rid of the fry. So I decided to quit. Maybe in the near future I try to breed some other ones (mostly to keep them myself hahhaha).

I leave eggs and over the years only 3 fry survived. One venezuelanus now !!!

Oh yes that’s right - Venezualians. That video is still very cute :)

Raising cory fry is hard work for me as a beginner breeder, but I reckon I’d be happy if I could manage to raise a strong batch for my bigger tank. Then I know exactly where they come from, what they’ve been exposed to and that they’re robust hopefully. Especially since I’ve not had much luck with the panda and sterbai stock I got previously and almost gave up on corys thinking I don’t have the touch :) The adult bronze corys I got from Hawk are amazing and robust. But he’s also had them for many years already so good to raise some offspring.

Surprised you couldn’t find people who wanted the offspring locally, are there not that many fish keepers in and around Hoorn?

There aren't that much and fish are quite available in LFS which make them pretty cheap to buy (a lot of people trust LFS's more than other keepers / breeders I suppose)
