Moving 1000 liter tank

Yes I bt to much water is flowing out like above the water surface. Just dropped the inlet nozzle like 1 cm down so I have 80% of nozzle submerged.

 

So tank is running all good sofar. No leaks , sump not overflowing. Still monitoring temp bt think I'll need another extra heater as winter is comming. Completed the sump cabinet. Just need to attach front doors. Led light up. Just need to add light to sump. And looking for best placement of wave maker.

@Hooks Best placing for wavemaker is close to the top to ripple water surface and agitate it nicely for proper oxygen exchange.....

 

So now I dont like the way they bare bottom silicone reflects. As I was expecting the mirror effect.

 

Had that problem in the past and ended up having some kind of (non-toxic) plastic CNC cut to fit, and bonded in (can't remember type). Wasn't ideal though and I'd probably have sandblasted the base on a do-over :/
Simplest would of course be some kind of pale substrate even if a shallow layer?
Maybe even white-backed glass cut to fit and inset - bit of a mission though!

I guess you can use a wave maker to ripple the surface but that is not actually the primary function of a wave maker especially in a big tank
Water surface agitation will be done with the spray bar or sump return and if really needed, an air stone

Also depends on what fish you going to keep

In a big tank the main purpose of the wave maker is to help lift the debris off the floor and into the overflow / filters as, the current created by the return from the sump is not usually enough to ensure all the debris gets off the floor and to the other side of the tank/ overflow
Once you decorate the tank, you will also find that you have dead spots which again a wave maker is used to overcome by not allowing food and debris to accumulate in the dead spots like behind wood or rocks

You can take an estimated guess now as to where to place the wave maker but the final position, you will probably have to adjust a bit once the tank is up and running, décor in. fish etc..

Obviously what fish you going to keep and the mess they produce will play a big role in the placement of the wave maker too

 

So some time has past and winter is comming quickly. Tank has got 2 tinfoils in from my other tank. It's been raining and temp of 8°c at night and proud to say the tank temp is stable at 27°c as I went to check at 3am and 6am while it's raining with icy winds to make sure all good.

 

I have added like a clear plastic sheet over the top, as I found alot of dust blew into the tank between the glass sliders and small openings the lids and inlet pipe. Got it at plastic shop and sells by meter. They said it's clear table cloth. Works nice as it sticks to the outside of the glass like a magnet. So it over laps on the sides of tank so I just lift it and fold over to side to feed or get in tank. I put it completely over light and all. Light is waterproof. Just thought its useful for those sumps that losing water and so on. Second pic is where I'm lifting right side up.

 

Comes on roll that was 1.6meter wide and sells for R35 per meter. Just off cut piece in pic
