@SalmonAfrica has given some good advice.
I had a 250L Malawi (Mbuna) tank some years ago.
If I had to go back to Rifts though, would definitely go the Tang route.

Agree.. as always @SalmonAfrica has given good advice

@rednox, its awesome to have your other half involved.. just makes it so much more enjoyable

As for the sump.. looking at it, you can fill up to where the black line is in the second compartment, keeping in mind that obviously when the media goes in there will not be that much water due to the obvious displacement of water but even so, it will take more water

must say bit nerves doing this as i mostly only have done large ca cichlids. but exciting it is. how many live stock will be okey for the tank don't want to over stock the tank. will be getting bigger heater aswell and the look at few samples of what we want to do with the layout.

Hahaha... you have had CA cichlids for a while... if memory serves me right...

They can be nice and agro too so you should be ok with this new project
I have always kept SA Cichlids.. can be buggers too but milder mannered..

Tried the Malawi thing few years ago as I have always loved the look of a display tank with all these bright coloured cichlids..

Well... that was before the internet.. and all the online help we can get today...(giving away my age here).. boy.. I think it wasn't two/three weeks and I couldn't handle the half killing each other and aggression so..... I threw in the towel and got Oscars again!!
So look forward to this project as.. I still think an African cichlid tank looks amazing

If you do a search on the Forum, Jack Stone did some posts on different Tang communities for different tank sizes. Worth looking in to.
