Both seem possible .. I now have another measuring point above the tank. The insetting thing is that the number above the tank are way different than what is being measured below the glass roof on Lucky13. This tells me that the roof I added 3 weeks ago by it self will contribute to the humidity needed even without adding the tent.

    Current stats -
Sensor on-top of the roof +26.6 C and 41% relative humidity (affectively the room temp and humidity) inside the tank just under the roof +25.4 C and 73% humidity.

BTW just got a cryptanthus of sorts .. so Now I need to start thinking about scaping this stuff not just plonking them on the pots.

Cryptanthus is what my main plant in my Paludarium is - basicly planted in full bog plant conditions(water from waterfall constantly running over/in its planting pocket) and doing very well like that.... Cool plants...

@f-fish, Where did you get the sponge for your corner "hamburger" filter and what density is it?
    TIA

@f-fish, Thanks for the link I'm now on to keep up to date with the HMF filters. Thanks for that, I used to have a sponge supplier, so I will see if they can help me out in the new year...

3 Days and no pic .. as the Tillandsia thread says, these plants have given me and Lucky 13 a new lease on scaping.
    lucky13dec19.jpg

I was contemplating using the air pump and air-curtain bar in the lucky 13's plant shelf, but for now it seems OK. The ferns that where rotting are starting to push new fronds.

It really is looking awesome. :adore: What is the plant that looks like it is producing a purple flower in the centre(ish)? Ok so now give us a rundown on what plants you have planted where on the shelf, I'm really interested. TIA

100% tillandsia juncea.jpg I was truly amazed at the transformation of these plants after the soaking - everything had more volume.

Check out the Tillandsia thread for most of the names .. the others are random fern stuff that I found that looked like they might survive in the tank. Sorry I was not diligent to that degree to record them on digital record.

This year lucky13 is looking much better after the hibernation. Recently added 14 rummy noses, tillandsia's are still doing well (lost a few but still looking ok)

Need to clean some algae of at some stage. The 4ft opple is much brighter than the old T8 (could also be a very old tube almost 2 years ???).

eish ... bad day for lucky 13 ... had a Jager malfunction on me, well actually long story. Cleaned the cascade 400 last night (it is the polisher in the tank with some filter sponge, floss then purigen) I have not been running heaters for a while now and forgot to remove this one when I switched them all off a few weeks ago. Anyway plugged the wrong plug into the strip and went to bed.

This morning I woke to that sick smell of hot fish water, I quickly spotted what the source was. Darn heater was cooking fish the entire night.

The arduino's probe logged a temp of 35.8 degrees in the tank. I immediately switched off the heater and removed it .. plugged the correct plug in and added the venturi to the cascade to get some air going into the water column.

    Survivors at this stage
8 rummy noses, 1 scissor tail, 2 otocinclus - maybe some corries ( I still need to move things around)

The temp has now dropped via the aeration to 27.35 ...

    Confirmed dead
    1x Large old angle
3x young boesmani 1x old boesmani (one of my first tropcial fish)
    8x rummy noses
    7x neon tetra
    1x Pangio kuhli
    1x redtail shark (albino )
4x glass fish (on a side note they turn white when they are dead)

MIA ... some corries not sure what else was in the tank - will see if the clean-up reveals anything.

Lesson learned - put the buzzer on the arduino probe for over temp - oh and do not go to bed after doing tank stuff ... sit and watch it for a few hours.

I am in two minds .. do I do a total strip down and start from scratch or do I see what survives and let the tank be?

Survivors ... confirmed: not in the picture 1 corrie and 1 oto.

Found the rest of the corries - they did not make it so 2 albino and 1 green.

Oh so sorry to hear! Maybe if you want to, its time for a change? Its what I have done on mine when the tank leaked.

Also I use nail polish - different colours for the plugs :p

Quick update .. all seems to be back to normal, no more floaters or decomposers ...

Actually I saw the lonely corrie clutch eggs and glue then to the bottom of some leaves ... not that I will see any fry since I do not have another in the tank.

I'll let it sit a while longer before stocking ... not sure what just yet.

    Indeed -
Thought about that (do every year) but getting rid of 22 tanks seems like more work than keeping them. Founds some 2 - 5 mm diamond gravel - got two bags that needs to find a home, maybe I will add some extra substrate to lucky 13 or remove the current while pebbles, actually have no real clue what to do with it at the moment so will let it be.

Seems like the tank is doing well and the badis badis have found a new home, two of the fish that survived (one pictured top right) was bought as a cameleon fish, now I see this is actually the nick for the badis.

Will the true cameleon pease stand up.
