Not a meme or humor, but something that was a huge amazing of fun (and a tad painful)...

I’m part of a hockey team that tries to do at least 2 charitable things a year, and this weekend being Easter was meant to be our day at a small play school out in the northern suburbs - building a play area. But due to lockdown that couldn’t happen just yet, so with it also being oceans we decided we could try something else.

Long story short - as a team, we all ran at least part of the 21km half marathon at home (I made 11km before my very tiny circuit destroyed my knee and I can still barely walk) and some did more, one family doing 63km between them at a total of R200 raised per km. After that, we all did a potjie which was dropped off at UTurn this morning - about 70 liters of food to those who need it most. And just to round it, we did a little fundraising for UTurn as well as a small business close to our teams hearts (the new restaurant at our club), bringing in about 45k.

It just shows that even in lockdown, we can all have fun, and help where it’s needed.

Haha, it was a little awkward with the whole distance thing but we all sprayed down with sanitizer and had our masks and what not so I guess the 5 seconds should have been ok
