So as we were getting the counter ready for the tank last night we realised what a BAD idea it was. That counter would have crumbled under the weight of the tank. Sooooo, Gareth's getting a stand made up today. :D Guess that's a much better option! Plus we'll get to keep the current tank where it is :D JOY!

Thinking we were going to set up last night, we did the pfp mix on Sunday. Is it ok to keep it in the bucket like that for more than 24 hours?

I have piktchas for you! ^^,

    What a mission!!!

Got home at about 5:30 and started on the tank immediately.
Put the pfp mix in, then the microbe-lift, then the sand. Problem was, I forgot to put silica between the microbe-lift and the sand, and I forget to put the nails on top of the pfp... instead I pushed them into the sand as far as I could.

Once that was done I removed all the plants from the other tank and began attaching moss, java fern and anubias to rocks and wood.

Then I placed all of that in the tank and started sorted through the plants. What a mission lol... just glad I didn't break anything.

Planted all the plants and realised that I'm going to put the amazon sword back into the small tank. Poor Betta needs some cover.

Once planted I started pouring the water in. Probably the hardest part of all because I only had a 5l bread bin to work with (yes this is my fish water scoop LOL)

Finally finished at about 9:30 and quickly took some photo's for you all :D

Very cool Linxie. With the little cave and the white sand it reminds me of some island getaway. Man I would live in that cave and go strolling through the rest of the jungle all day long.

You got a lot of different plants.

HAHA thanks Vis :D Glad you like it.

Yeah, Henk was VERY generous with plant cuttings. This tank would have looked dull if it weren't for him :) Thanks Henk!

    Thanks AidanEel :)
No I didn't. I decided it would be too much to keep it clean, so they've got their cave and sand to dig in ^^,

Amazing tank! What other species of fish are you going to be keeping? Is it meant to be a S.E. Asian Biotope tank?

    Thanks Goonch :)
I'm afraid I've haven't gone for any specific biotype yet. I think I have a lot to learn still before I can do one successfully.

Honestly, I'm not sure what other fish we'll keep. I've been looking at different species lately, trying to find the nicest community type fish to keep.

Currently we'll only keep the kuhlis, male guppies and danios in the tank.

Awesome set up Linxie. Love the sand! Plants are nicely balanced out too with the wood and rocks.

    Love it
