Lake Malawi cichlids breeding "season"

    Not all of them.
    Maybe yellow labs. And some of the OB types.
    But with the Pseudotropheus etc it's difficult to sex males and females until they get to a few cm. In fact, a lot of the fish that turn up in fish shops are often hormone treated to get them to colour nicely to make them more saleable. Breeders in the far east have a reputation of doing this

    Oh sorry I didn't mean by gender. I meant to show colour. Gender is never easy to tell by I agree. I will have to take my best guess

    With regards to hormone treatment I agree 100% it happens here and denied too

    Not yet bud Moved the mummy to the sump tank for now.
    And set up the spare tank, just waiting for water to settle then will move her.

    Did a rescape on the tank today. Glad to say it's looking much better now.
