    @jabula 7749, Just had a look in my L-Cat bible and it looks like it may be an L253, and it gets really big, 35-40cm. It really is stunning though. I may be mistaken though.

    @spearo, @Pierre Schoonraad, Please can you post some pics of your Adolfo's. I'm really curious to see if they are the real ones.

    @Janna57, that is a stunner. I love them but they just get way too big for me :-(

    @MattLamm, very nice pics. I see that your Butterfly plec also displays such awesome colours. I also have the Mega Clown, but they are forever hiding away in the chunk of wood that I have in their tank... Love the Royal, it is so stunning, but I hope you have the space for him to grow to full size... 50 - 60cm... :O

    Thanks guys. I've always liked the Royals. Took me ages to find one, then I ended up getting 2. The species I have stay slightly smaller than some of the other royals. L027 grow to about 40cm. They're currently have plenty space and I will just keep making a plan for them as they grow. Fortunately they grow fairly slow.

    I was moving some of the tank furniture around tonight and I noticed my female Clown Pleco is very plump and round. Think it's time to make some spawning caves. I know most people use slate for the caves but I got a bunch of small pieces of dragon rock and was thinking of using that as it looks more natural. Anyone know of any cons with me doing this?

    I think the sides of the cave can be dragon rock but the roof, where the eggs are laid, will have to be smooth, but there is nothing stopping you from putting a flat piece under the dragon rock roof...

    @MattLamm,

    Never heard of dragon rock.
    But if it's rough I wouldn't use it.
    Slate is the more traditional rock used.
    And some people use plastic pipes.

    Perhaps you could cover some pipe with the dragon rock to give it a more natural look.

    Thanks Guys. I wasn't sure how rough things get when they spawn. The rock is kinda smooth in texture, but it is jagged at the same time. So was wondering if they would get injured. Perhaps I'll use something smooth on the inside just to be safe. I'm not a massive fan of anything that doesn't look natural, which is why I didn't want to build the square slate caves I have seen people use.

    @Skye01, why does the roof need to be smooth? Does it need to be flat as well or is PVC pipe still an option inside the cave?

    @Reedfish, this is dragon rock :

    @MattLamm

    Ah, ok, that does look like nice rock.
    Plecs like to lay on a flat surface, so maybe as I suggested, a plastic/pvc pipe and then cover that with the rock to hide it.

    Cool, yeah will make a plan to make it more flat and smooth inside like you guys have suggested.
