Wonder if that was it for the winter in JHB ... tanks are all doing well over min temp sets for the past few days.

Yep... lets hope so.. I have also had to switch off some heaters and turn the others down, tank is still sitting at 28 in the morning and last two days was at nearly 30 in the evening....

Yeah - just hope the early summer does not leave us with not rain. Seems like the US is doing a water grab at the moment.

    Lets just pray it comes...

And lets hope the tanks dont start going above the 30...

Yay, I am not going crazy :) lol

I replaced 3 of my heaters now, thinking that the thermostat was broken :$

Thought I was doing something silly and blowing them.

But will start closing the rooms door and think about adding glass covers again.

Got 2 50 mm pc fans blow and suck air out of canopy to stop condensation. Temp drop the last few days had me installing heaters. Temp up to normal. Only for 4 months then it's summer again.

Well just by by closing the door to the fishroom - it has not dropped below 18 and is at minimum 3 degrees warmer than the lounge.

But seriously need to pull myself to some solar heating this winter.

Would you solar heat the fish room?

Yeah I started on the idea last year - but the winter was over way quicker than I thought, so maybe this year something can be done.

The idea would be black PVC - thermo sensor - and a fan. When the air in the pipes are X degrees higher than the air in the room switch the fan on and move the hot air into the colder room. So a solar convection heater in affect.

    Time will tell...

And another year passes that I did not get to do my solar heater ... oh well - running only the 2 300watt heaters in the room seems to have been ok this year.

Are you using the sonoff temperature sensors?

hmm .. so 2 x sonoff on the two hearers with temp probes, a Sonoff on the a light circuit + a room temp and humidity probe, a few probes on a yun, not running any temp sensors on any esp-01's at the moment, then some oregon room and outdoor sensors ( no base station ) that I sniff via a sdr.

This has been running rock solid for a while now .. so have not messed with it in a long long long time. Hence some of the stats spanning multiple years.

Still a bit of time left ..

Moved a small wheelie bin into the fishroom to have a few liters of water at room temp if I need to do a rescue or WC.

I’ve noticed a temp drop in my tanks, winter approaching. Using an infrared gun as backup test / quick easy.
Time to dial crank up those heaters a bit?
