I agree with everything said thus far... My main display is a Jebo... not by choice, but by insurance choice. If I had my way, I would've gone with a custom tank.

Jebo's newer range has dropped the internal hood filter, and has given the extra light tube. They generally all come standard with 10,000k globes, which I personally found a bit too bright/harsh/wrong colour spectrum. Being a second hand tank, the globes are probably old and need replacing in any case.

And Tim is 100% correct, getting parts for these puppies is not an easy task. The day my tank arrived, I had to trek all the way back to Boksburg to get them to replace ALL the lamp holders, because they were ALL broken.

Downside, you have to get yourself an external filter (costly) because if it does come with a hood filter, it more than likely won't be sufficient.

And @Filterboy... drilling a tank is not as easy as just buying a drill bit and putting it onto a drill. You need a special drill bit with a diamond tip, lots of water, and lots of patience. The diamond tipped drill bit can go for anything between R250 and R600 per bit... obviously the more expensive, the better quality diamonds in the bit. (And no... these are not diamonds you can put on your girlfriend's finger... unless you really want to be considered a duma$$. These are industrial black diamonds)

Drilling the Jebo may actually be easier than you think, because some of the Jebo's are made from a polycarbonate, rather than glass, which is basically like plastic. However I wouldn't tempt it. These tanks are put together in such a way that they are under "tension" or "torsion". Drill in the wrong place, and you may land up with a nice crack running down that lovely glass bend in the front.

At the end of the day... nice tank, good price... but yes, parts are a little difficult, and if you are just planning a planted tropical tank Id say go for it... if you handy with your hands, take the chance.

Personally, I would rather take that money and get a custom tank... which will more than likely be bigger if you get it at the same price.
