Tuesday I added water, primer for chlorine, some bacteria-in-a-bottle and a pinch of flakes to kick of the cycling process.

Man I love this little tank of yours, any idea on what plants you are going to plant or is this still a deciding factor?

I will be trying a treescape like on the first page but it will not be so dense. Because of the size of this tank you can regularly change the look without doing to much work so I foresee it will be evolving. First off I need to try the tree.

I am really stoked about this little project

that "underwater Bonsai" project you want to do its absolutely amazing, i think its called "Pinheiro Manso" if users want to google it, its a Portuguese architect who came up with it! i also would like to do something alike one of these days so keep posting photos, lets see how it turns out and the best of luck mate :)

You could try Moolis at Pet Stop! I got two 25 watt heaters from him and think he still has stock. He will gladly order for you if needed! These are good heaters and fit perfectly into my 1foot tanks

    Thanks for the info @Rico

There are some awesome scapes. My next task is to get the wood part of the tree done. I will go hunting for some donor wood this weekend.

THAT LPS in atterbury has quite a selection of twisted vine type wood. cheap too cause it's light. just sterilise thoroughly as it lies about open in the shop for everybody and their grubby hands to touch

@woerman I am also looking for a nice piece of drift wood that looks like a small bonsai tree, meanwhile i have started growing some nice java moss balls and started my own diy java carpets, i read a couple of forums and if you create this java moss carpets, once you remove the mesh the java is nice and strong for you to mold around any surface you want! for the Tree you can take small sized dish wash scrub (green ones will do just fine) cut the rectangular shape of it to desired size and simply tie the moss with a fish line or nylon thread and hook it to the already made trunk. It will look terrible in the first go but let it bloom, you'll end up with your own bonsai inside the tank.

    Cheers
