You know you are going back.........:smiley-laughing024:

When I kept Chocolates previously, I had a pair, and an extra female.
Seemed to work. Not sure if 2 males in one tank would be ok though

I seem to recall you had some lemon Oscars.
    What happened to those?

Yes.... you right.... probably wont resist going back.
Reedfish....My lemon Oscars..... I don’t even want to talk aboutit.... haven’t had the courage to but I guess eventually i have to..
I lost every one of the little Oscars for no reason that canbe found...
I even took 2 to my vet and she could not find anything shecould pinpoint...
My water parameters were spot on, no outward signs of any disease, the vet opened the 2 i took her and she couldn’t see anything... One by youjust found one dead.
I have just been too heartbroken to even talk about it....Keepon asking myself what went wrong...Only thing I can think is that they werevery small and maybe they went through too much stress during shipping forwhatever reason..???
    I don’t know...
But.... Im NOT giving up on my dream...
I have ordered another 6.... might take a while again...

    @MariaS,

Sorry to hear about the lemons.
They are probably quite highly inbred, and are a long way from some of the standard forms of Oscar.

And I have also found, that for no apparent reason, some fish just won't survive in one's tank
I have tried black Angels loads of times. And keep losing them. Have given up.

    In the mean time.
The chocolates seem happy in your tank.

@MariaS, I loose very, very few new fish, probably way less than 5%, but from these guys my mortality rate is at least 50% within the first two weeks.

Sorry @Reedfish, we hijacking your thread a bit... @Jwh, I have also never lost much fish in past except 2discus a little while back.... and I often buy from them as you know.... never had problem... So.. I don't know...
Anyway... time will tell.. I wont give up... Meantime the little chocolates have brought a smile back with their gorgeous character but I will start a thread on them

    Hahahah you were SO right!!!

    And... guess what.....
I have been begging them for months to sell me the one in the display tank (as I mentione before) but they refused point blank because they used him/her to show everyone what they look like when they get bigger

So... I got there Saturday to get another baby but of course I had to go look at the bigger one and I was SO upset!
They had some very big jags and a couple other very big cichlids and they were bullying the poor chocolate, he was up against a corner and his fins were already nipped and he had 2 "bites" on his one side

So of course I called the shop manager and had my "10cents" disgusted worth.. and the poor guy was emabarassed and agreed and decicded to phone the owner and told him the other cichlids were going to eventualy kill the chocolate and SO.... he came home with me!!!!

He was a little shy and hidding under the driftwood so I couldnt get a pic of him yesterday although he is coming for food.

We relocated my "what looks like breeding pair of Oscars" yesterday, giving them a tank just for the two and chocolates last night were much happier, I think the oscars although they didnt bully them, just the size was a bit intimidating

I will try get pictures of them tonight an post
    They gorgeous!!!

The friend of mine who was keeping my chocolates for me needs the tank space.
So I had to go and collect them last night. They are a bit smaller than I would have liked.

But this morning they seem ok.

I will take some photos this evening.
Was in a rush when I left for work this morning. :(

Last time I had Chocolates they grew quite quickly.
As you say, they eat like piggies!

    That will be great!!

Yes.. they grow fairly quickly.. I guess looking at the Oscars in the other tank and because i look at the chocolates evry day, it looks like they not growing fast but everyone else that sees them say they have grown

Irrespective.. I must say I am totally in love with them and what character!!

    @MariaS,

Most of them were eating nicely last night and this morning. So they seem to have settled in well
