    Disaster has struck.....
Did not inspect the tank for two days. Only feeding done. Today I saw during water changes numbers fell. Apon inspection discovered hydra!

Moved fry out immediately to 2nd tank.

    Oh dear!
If you have gouramis you can send them in to clear up the hydra. They eat hydra.
Or perhaps even the minnows will eat them, I’m convinced mine eat planaria (know it’s not the same thing).

Could not agree more @MariaS , Well done @Gbr guy getting those rams to hatch and grow!!. What do you suspect caused the Hydra? As you said you used MBlue and that stuff is pretty strong?

When feeding the baby brine it causes the hydra to develop.

It's a big pain in the butt

Guess as the saying goes, you learn every day
I had no idea that the brine could cause hydra to develop

I have fed brine many times and never happened but I am guessing with overfeeding?

@Gbr guy, you need to enlighten us here please...

So what I understand is that hydra is a sea anemity...
They develop with over feeding. Will check were they come from though.

I once developed hydra in my 30l tank, but it was during its pea soup phase and I'd left the lights off for about a week and they started growing on the glass

Moved the guys to a larger setup with filters.

They are putting on some size no. Developing dorsal and pectoral fins

Here's a cool video on breeding rams for anyone interested:
    Lot of cool macro footage.

Video also mentions the hydra issue too. I'm lucky not to have had that in my breeder tanks so far
