Help needed

With that said, with all the fish etc, no fish were dying with just my 4 stage internal filter only , now I am getting double or even triple filteration, water is crystal clear excess waste is being filtered by internal, will try to get an accurate test done.

 

What about parasites, how do you get rid of them

Maria was correct, ammonia level was in the red zone, I have bought a chemical so how do I maintain it after that has finished, being unemployed ,its very expensive to buy every week.

 

U dont seem to be listening!! Your filtration is inadequate. Get a bigger filter which inturm will keep more beneficial bacteria will which will take care of the ammonia...YOU DO NOT NEED CHEMICALS. As a fishkeeper the goal should be zero chemicals

Where can I get a bigger filter at a good price with low power usage?

 

I bought my current 1 from Wazeer who said that it is sufficient for my tank.

 

If money is tight get sponge filters, cheap and efficient things those.

Chemicals will not sort out your problem... you can throw chemicals in to neutralize ammonia but that will not resolve the cause of the ammonia being so high.
What chemical have you bought?

Increasing the speed at which the water flows through the filter will not help unless there is sufficient media in the filter AND sufficient bacteria to break down the ammonia.
In fact, if the water flows too fast, there is not enough time for the bacteria to do its job
Right now, you don't have enough bacteria to cope with the amount of ammonia those fish are producing

You have to take a few steps back, in order to get things right and my advice is.. 1st thing... cut down the number of fish to half!!

The canaster filter seems to be for up to 300 litre aquarium so should be sufficient if you have proper bio filter media. I suggest you do regular 50% water changes, every second day.
I would get seachem stability which you dose daily (I would dose for at least ywo weeks) and treat new water with seachem prime. You can also add prime every 48 hours to bind the ammonia and give the bacteria time to catch up.

I suspect you added too many fish at once.

 

I forgot to mention that you should do a very large water change immediately, and match the water temp when adding the new treated water.

Make sure you add something like seachem prime ( preferably prime) with each water change, if not the chlorine will not only burn the gills of the fish but will kill off beneficial bacteria.

Lots of comments and all are leading to filtration. Chemical intervention is not recommended as that generally adds a new imbalance.
Route cause is probably lack of filtration.
Add a sponge filter... Less than R100...

Fish grow all the time.. As they grow so does the amount of bioload/ammonia they produce

The amount of media and relevant amount of bacteria that can grow in that amount of media was coping the last few months but as the fish grow and the bioload they produce increases, your media doesnt grow to give space for more bacteria to populate so the bacteria doesnt increase either...
Hope that explains why you were ok up to now but now you have problems
And even if you add the sponge filters, it might help for another 4 or 5 months but you sooner than later are going to have a problem again

We are talking goldfish here, not small livebearers or other small fish

If you are determined to keep all those goldfish in that tank, as @Nico Hamman said, you will have to do minimum 50% water changes every two or three days

 

Ok, will try the 50% water change, taught goldfish was cost effective compared to tropical, guess I was wrong
