Hi zoom isn't the price /kw depending on the total consumption The higher your consumption the higher the unit price.
    Hi Slayer
And the consumption depends on the room temp? So the better the room or the individual tanks are insulated the less the heater has to work. Polystirene or bubble rap around the tanks will keep most of the heat in.

The jhb guys know how the weather has changed yesterday and today. Its cold here. So the heaters are working more.

My point : I keep my door in my fishroom closed, I find that the room is pretty warmer than the rest of the house. My tanks keep the room warm. So I guess I'm well enough insulated. This is a major ++ for me.

Bought and installed the econo heat wall panel heater. It even comes with the drill bit. Very easy to install. All you need to do is drill 4 holes and a couple of taps with the hammer. I bought the 260 watt heater which heats 9 sq mt room.

Its been warm for the last couple of days so the heater is off. Room is warm enough. I installed the heater on saturday. It was cold on saturday. I did notice the fish room much warmer than the rest of the house once I turned the heater on.

You guys know how cold it has been here in jhb. The fishroom has been about 23deg with the econo heater on. Remember we had mornings as cold as 3deg

Must say I did the polystyrene on the walls thing .. and that worked like a charm .. thing that gets me is the humidity ... mold loves anything above 50% and with the room insulated this jumps quickly - I'd like to get the room to stay at say 20 degrees but have the humidity at 40 or 45 % ....

Try some silica gel for the humidity
