    Absolute bargain ... so under a R100 for a trio, if you are tight on cash - then only get 5 pre-hit females in a few months you should have just under a 100 guppies.

    I have to wonder why people think that purchasing form the local specialty breeder should be cheaper than hormone treated imports.

    Fully agree, does make for nice mico fish for nano tanks ;-)

    I visited a couple of LFS in Centurion today, and was surprised at their prices.
    Tip Top - R45-00 for common guppies, and R75-00 for Jumbo.
    Family Pet Centre - R30 for females, and R45-00 for males
    Parrot Inn - R 25-00 for common females, R35-00 for common males
    Pets Inc - R25-00 for male and female common guppies.

    Common guppies to me are the greyish guppies with a coloured caudal fin.

    Sounds about what I remember from a week or two back. I also remember when I came to your place, your female guppies are XXL like the GBR male... must be something you doing right to get your fish yo grow so well...

    @Pezulu would it be possible to send me some pics of the blue types of you guppies. Want to dedicate a 4 foot tank to all blue but not sure what the differnces are between them...

    I got them as Blue Russians, but I suppose Moscow Blue works just as well.

    There is a difference between need and want.
    You could keep 10 in the 4ft, or 1000.

    I must be getting old...

    According to AquAdvisor, you could keep about 50 adult guppies in a 4ft tank, depending on filtration.
    With good husbandry, you could keep more.
