GM glowing angelfish

I read somewhere that they were able to clone danios... Not sure how reliable this info was, has anyone heard anything about it?

 

umm... maybe a little ambiguity in my statement...the danios I referred to are being imported from Israel. The importer said that the breeder in Israel is feeding them a special brine shrimp for the color....so they dont do anything special for them here in SA.

 

they only show those colours when lit by black light, the same tube you use to check money notes. naturally they wouldnt be lit up.

Slojo, what brand of colour enhancing flakes do you have thats so effective?

Its the genes from glowing jellyfish which they got to somehow form part of the fish' genes.
The chinese started experimenting on preggy pigs, they injecyed their womb with this jellyfish dna/genes.
Well the little piglet had glowing hooves and tongue. This is then passed over generation to generation.
So they must have found a way to do this with fish. No money in glowing pigs lol.

 

I actually believe that the bright pink Danio is a genetically modified danio using the DNA from those glowing jellyfish. This is what I have heard from another breeder.

Man this is just wack. How would you feel if you were hunted by a lion in the night and your head was glowing bright green all the time. Like to see you hide and feel safe.

I don't think coloration affects how fish feel psychologically. They will just feel as part of a shoal of glowing fish.

If you grew up in a pride of lions with no human contact, wont you feel as if you were a lion?

Watch the movie Future of food, talks about GM crops that forces farmers to buy seeds from the big agricultural producers and prohibits them from holding seeds from a crop for replanting, so that you buy again the following year.

The same principle applies here , in designing (and trademarking, probably some type of patent on this fish/process) this danio so that the final sold generation is sterile, stops others from breeding them which means they have no competition in the market and you can only buy the fish from them.

If even managed to breed these they would probably sue you !

 

Tarzan did not glow though.

Some things are cool when they glow like:
The Predator.
Glowsticks at a rave
The soles of you tekkies.
The end of your pencil if its shaped like a UFO and you are alone at the office.
Some adult baloons
The stars you stuck to your ceilling.

Things that are not cool when they glow:
Your dogs eyes, that just spells daemon dog.
Your behind side after a hiding, OUCH.
Your cerial, can you say radioactive much.
And then angel fish, just because its not natural

 

Yes I also prefer my angels, they glow with pure Rio Negro Scalare genes!
Like a pure Altum - beats this monstrosity/"Ninja turtle", hands down!

 

These fish will never be released back into the wild - they cost way too much to just throw around. They won't have to fear predation in the wild and - hopefully - not in the tank environment either.

They're 'desgined' to look good, for ornamental use, just as many other fish are; even other angelfish have been selectively bred to have more 'attractive' colours. They use a different method, yes, but all with the same effect.
