    Quick update!

Finally bought another rack and this time waterproofed it (6 coats).

Left bottom tank has 200 dwarf rainbowfish fry in. (And 2000 ramshorn snails)

Middle tank has about 200+ pumpkin shrimp in (Overstocked I know, busy moving and selling them, If you want any left me know)

Right tank has about 50+ rainbow fry in. Busy transferring them from the main 4ft tank as they hatch, really surprised at how much actually hatch, its crazy.

Endgoal is to be able to raise a decent group of rainbow fish every month and sell of some shrimp in the long run to help out with the costs of a new light system!

Very cool! Good luck with your breeding man, you'll be rolling in bucks :D

Your tanks are looking green and healthy. I must find photos of a cool rainbow breeding system that I saw!

Now if only I can find some really nice boesemani rainbow, I would be a happy man.

    Time for an update!
Tanks got a bit out of hand, so sold off some of the moss, shrimp and assassin snails to fund the next project (RO Unit!)
Started rescaping all the smaller tanks I have yesterday, and cleared out some stuff.
(Amazing how fast things grow if you just leave it).

Redid the 2ft, and the fry tank.
Ripped out the Bruce out of the 4ft and decided it needs its own tank.
Still need to move the remaining shrimp to the 2ft, rescape the 2 remaining shrimp tanks and do a good cleaning on the 4ft!

Quick preview of the new Mini M buce tank I finally set up. Currently its sitting next to my TV, settling in before I add some snowballs in there.

(Still need to clean the glass a bit)

Do you have any blue eye rainbowfish? Haven't seen many around and looking for some.

I would suggest you get some 10mm polystyrene from Westpack, and cut it to size to fit under that tank next to your TV.
It might not be necessary, but can save a lot of hassle should the tank decide it doesn't like bare glass resting on wood.

There is actually some black foam under it, not very thick, but its there.
Got another 2 pads that I actually forgot about that I still need to add to it.

Nope unfortunately not. Rainbows in SA in general seems to be a rare, thats why I started breeding some of them. As soon as I am done raising the dwarf neon I will try my hand with some boesemani!

I really hope it grows in.
Still debating if I should fire up the old DIY Co2 system and hook it up full time to the tank on 1bsp.

Hard call esp if you only have buce and nothing else to suck up the extra nutrients .. sure CO2 will work, but then you need to spike the fertz, now you need to make sure you have enough plant so that algae does not climb in - what I have noticed, buce does not like water under 20 - 22 degrees - it almost stops to grow .. 23 - 24 and up and things go lekker again.

    Time for an update!

So I bought a really EPIC setup from a fellow forum member and hopefully getting it next weekend!

With that I will most likely have to sell off my smaller tanks and MAYBE, MAYBE the 4 ft as well, but at this stage I am finding it really hard to part with my rainbow fish as I have spent many many hours just sitting in front of the tank watching them go past...
@Pezulu first suggested to get rainbows, and I kinda hate him for that because they are so amazing! (But thanks really)

Batch of dwarf neon Rainbows finally at a size where I can move them, still have a nice feeding video that I still need to upload.

Also got more into the shrimp side of things as they just take over a tank and are really entertaining.

With the new setup the focus will be breeding some shrimp to get good colors as well as trying to breed some nano fish (CPD's etc).

Small update for now, but will most likely post some pictures in the coming week. Have a lot of goodies that is sitting in a box waiting for things to happen at this stage!

    Sneak peek!

    Some might recognize the setup.

Took some photos throughout the day! Will do a better post tomorrow when I can feel my hands haha. 19c07f04270de92dbf717dab0960fd01.jpg7d463c14a9ed9edbafa7ad9116fa8e5d.jpg
