So Christmas came early... Also tax returns!

Now I need to somehow move the current tank...

 

I actually got stuck at Aqua Empire during the massive storm that just past Krugersdorp... So I ended up buying way more than I should have!

 

And done!

Suddenly the fish seem a lot smaller.

@Gamma . I use the same lighting ,running 3 of those with 2 t8 .Have had great results considering how cheap the units cost .

Lots of changes in the last week!

250L up and running, Added 15 Dwarf rainbows and 10 Tiger barbs in there over the last 2 weeks. Was a bit touch and go the first bit but they are looking amazing. Unfortunately the rainbows are still quite small so they need to grow out a bit more over the next few weeks.

2ft breeder tank at the bottom for whatever I want to add there. Thinking of moving all my assassin snails eggs there and then actually make it a snail only tank.

And the shrimp tank. O wow was I surprised by it...
Kinda just leave it to let it go, but while admiring how nice the moss is growing in the tank I saw this little one crawling out from under the filter.
Really did not expect it, so was super happy to see it. Had a look around and saw about 3 other berried RCS in the tank too!


Planning on borrowing a nice camera the up coming weekend and taking some glamour shots of all the fish and tanks, since a phone is really limited...

 

WC done, new plants added, and DIY CO2 added back to the tank.

Looking forward to see how the CO2 will work with the new T8 LED lights on the tank. But for now its still needs to grow quite a bit.

Been a while since my last update...

Completely rescaped the 4Ft again.... Got Co2 for most tanks, picked up a ADA mini M to play around with on my desk too.
MTS has hit me hard...Bought an additional 3 tanks.
Currently have 60 Juli cory fry in the one, Pumpkin shrimp in the second one, and then as of last night, Dwarf Rainbowfish fry in the last one...

Did not really plan on the Rainbowfish fry, as I was intending to use that tank as a grow out for the Juli cories, but hey, sometimes unexpected things happen.

Any tips on raising them would be greatly appropriated! Decided I while back that I want a massive school of rainbowfish in my 4ft, so would be great if I could get the fry raised.

Also have quite a few shrimp/plants/moss and equipment I need to get rid off, so might be making a thread later in the week.

Will post some pictures and updates of everything later, busy uploading pictures.

 

Sjoe and here I was thinking the new scape was not photogenic ;-) .... would love to see the new scape ....

but more tanks and no pics - that is just cruel.

The next day


Few week later with some more tanks at the bottom. Ignore the mess. Its not there anymore.


So the next pic was a bit of a major panic day. Had an airhose come loose and it started draining water onto the wood below with the tanks on. This was just after my weekly WC on all the tanks. 5 min later I checked back on the tanks to make sure everything is fine and saw some water on the floor.
Over the next 30min, i heard a crack sound and started to panic. Noticed the wood is slightly higher. 5min later the wood bent 2cm. In panic I drained all 3 tanks on the wood, moved them with 10% water still in them and will all the livestock to the spare room and refilled them. Still need to figure out what to do next haha.

very very nice ... he he major panic, all you did was find more space for more tanks, no reason to panic embrace it !!!

That rescape was loads of work but well worth it for the result ..

Redid one of the temp tanks holding my Juli cories last night. Juli Cories are now back into the main 4ft with the rainbows.



Added about 10-15 really nice pumpkins in there to see what they do in 3 months.

 

Those pumpkins really look nice.
Hopefully in a few months they will have bred.
