    other than the treat now ... since I stopped the live food from winter. It has been flakes and no name brand granules that AE sells, or qualikoi cichlid granules.

    Got some good growth in that tank ... @Christiaan Duvenage maybe just move the tall stuff to the back ... open up some glass.

    @MariaS lol - not that bad, wondering if I should remove all the substrate or just dump the akadama into the tank and work with that mix. The latter sounds more practical.

    Been pushing substrate around for 15 minutes, surely bacteria should be able to remove most of the detritus.

    20 minutes and the polishing is just not making a dent .... seems like a WC is the only route.
