My new tank is a self feeding tank - the lights attract moths which end up in the water. Doesnt happen with any of my other tanks for some reason

Oh Ok.. that's interesting. Didn't know you kept snakes as well.
I know they also feed mice and small frogs to the Arowanas but I have skipped that menu!

in asia they seem to do a lot of centipedes as well, apparently it great for the arowanas color.
I have done frogs in the past to a silver, fish loved them but always worried me as they where fishing bait frogs that where not kept in best conditions and was worried about parasites

I raised a number of barn owls at one stage, and decided to breed mice to feed the growing owlets.
I got 4 female mice and 1 male mouse from a local pet shop, @ R2-50 each.
As mice are known to do, they soon got down to causing a population explosion, which happened in a surprisingly short amount of time.
I couldn't get it over my heart to feed the live mice to the owls, so continued with chicken hearts dipped in calcium, and the mice continued multiplying.
After a few months I returned the mice to the pet shop, for a tidy profit of R725. (R3-00 per mouse, minus R25 for the original mice.)

Won't help you find mice, but I like telling that story... :D
