    @Marco,

    Southampton at home......surely we will win.

    I was going to go, but my son has a party, so the Mrs ruled that out :fight:

    All these Hillborough allogations are quite hectic!

    Hi @Reedfish

    Mmmm, other teams have not had it easy against the Saints hey, we should win. . . But will we?

    Seeing that I cant make it to the game I dont feel sorry for you!

    Ive only been scanning the reports here on this Hillsborough issue. There is a part of me that feels it should be left, buried and accepted by now, but I guess for families etc its just too painfull.
    Shocking to hear that Police changed statements and got rid of evidence, thought that only happens in SA!

    @Marco,

    You will have to come on a visit and go to a few matches.

    Yup, we may need Padolski to score a hat trick.

    I suppose for the families who always suspected the truth it was hard to move on unless they get some sort of justice.

    @Marco,

    Before yesterdays match I would have taken a point against City.
    But we should have won....had the chances....

    @Marco,

    Well.....a bad weekend in the football.
    We lost. I was at the game, and think I should ask for my money back!
    And to make matters worse, Spurs beat Man U! :evil:

    Mean time, a friend of mine has invited me to go with him to the CL match on Wednesday. He has 2 season tickets, and the usual person who goes with him can't, so he has invited me to go with.

    @Marco,

    I was at the CL match last night.
    At least we won, but at times were less than convincing.

    Hi @Reedfish

    A win is a win at this stage. So Im not complaining.
    Gervinho playing well, but at the back we seem shaky all over again.

    FC Bayern Lost. . . Again

    @Marco,

    Yup, a win is a win.

    We also seemed a bit slow going forward. Walcott and Giroud brought some much needed pace when they came on.
    Do you think they should have started?

    @Reedfish

    Tbh, I always thought we'd be one midfielder short, a controlling player, something Diaby does, but as usual he is injured. Thats a big problem. Maybe Frimpong can do it, but he has attitude issues, and is again nothing more than a hard tackling guy.
    I do think Walcott and Giroud should play more yeh. I think Wenger is damaging Giroud's confidence by not playing him.
    I would play them both up front against lesser opponents, have a Heskey/Owen type set up which could lead to maaaaaany goals for us.
    But. . . Im just a know it all spectator.
    I do believe Walcott has an eye for goal though. He does NOT have an eye for crosses and winger play

    Btw. . . Its soooooo good to see City struggle

    @Marco,

    Yup, Giroud should start, I agree.

    I think Walcott is ok on the wing. He set up RVP quite a few times last season. He has said he wants the main striker position. So if he can score goals from the wing, maybe Wenger will move him into a central position.

    Wilshire played in a youth game during the week. If he comes back, we will have an attacking midfielder of quality.

    @Marco,

    Did you watch the England game on Friday night?
    I don't like internationals for the prime reason that it is an opportunity for your players to get injured.....and I was proved right. That tackle on Walcott was shocking!

    For my sins and parentage I am a proud Birmingham City fan. I have met one fellow Brummie supporter in South Africa. Unfortunately the majority of "fans" here know less than nothing about the game and are all "lifelong" supporters of the flavour of the year. Five years ago there were no Man City fans to be seen here, now there are thousands. Enough said.

    Hi @Reedfish

    I didnt watch the game no. Im in agreement with you though, internationals always seem to burn Arsenal in some way through injury. I dont see why the need to play them sporadically and in an alrrady congested schedule. I dont have a solution but they tend to just disrupt and adds little overall value.

    Its amazing how many ppl share this view. I foresee international football in time regressing to an amateur "intro" level, played by mostly young players in need of exposure. Its insane that clubs have to spend enormous amounts on players only for an international break to end/disrupt a players season, hurting the club in the process. More and more players and clubs are withdrawing from these, refusing players to go by feigning injury etc. I dont blame them. I find international football ever boring in any way

    @halfway

    Share your sentiments. Those supporters are all over in any sport, not just football. Few years ago 5 out of 10 people were wearing Ferrari hats and shirts, thats all gone now.
    Its an association rather than supporting thing I think. The top clubs draw these "iffy" supporters which does add value to clubs by buying merchandise etc, its what drives the game. Strangely enough, the football scene specifically is geared more towards this type of support than the "heart and soul" type supporters. Instant success means instant cash injections. Its especially visible when one consider that the £80mill spent by Real on Ronaldo was mostly recouped before the start of his first season with them, via "Ronaldo" shirt sales. Its become a business! And its BIG business!

    Friend of mine is a fellow "Birmingham city" club fan. . . The other club though - Aston Villa - I enjoy meeting guys who support clubs based on heritage etc. I dont. I was born here, started supporting Arsenal only because everyone was either Liverpool or Man Utd in the 80's, and I wanted to be different. It sorta stuck. . .
