    @Fishlips,

    Looking great.
    Would a range of tank sizes not be a good idea?
    I get that the way you have them all the same fits nicely.
    But various tank sizes will give you more flexibility as the project develops.

    @Reedfish thanks

    I think that would have been nice, but im thinking of quantity of tanks. The more, the better.

    I also want all types of fry at different stages at any given time. Or i want 4 generations of each...

    I might be a tad off with calculations, but i might be able to fit in quit a bit of 10 gallons afterwords too.

    If the fishroom does very well in time i might expand it even and do more species of fish too. But im going to try and be clever and see what else i can do in the different tanks. For example grow mosses and breed plecos or whatever with other fish in tanks.

    But yes, stuff never turn out 100% as planned...

    Will see what does good and what does not then take it from there. But will need tanks by end of February again to qt my outside fish before selling off...

    Will also give me a chance to choose breeders etc.
    But i can say 1 thing, i really do want to do some cichlids in time from South America again... but that will come in time.

    I also must not count my angels out, they are growing nicely too.

    Tested the thermostat on it, seems to be working ok, but i might get an actual thermostat with probe to handle the temps instead...

    @f-fish have you done this with computer software yet?
    Im thinking rasberry pi but it will be new grounds, where there arent really room for trial and error...

    Either go that root ot get a unit to do it for me

    Thanks for the link Ferdie. Nice little gadget i saw on there to monitor and regulate temps, might use it...

    Land lord might have cable for me lying around, but i figured, i will do some research and see what i can get and for how much, just for incase hde doesnt have any lying around at his factory. My current wont be huge, and worked out, i will draw 6 amps at most, which is maybe even over calculated, might even use less. So im setteling for the normal 3 core power cable. More like an extension type thing. Will need +- 40 meters...

    Will be rooting it properly though lol

    Hmmm, not sure how you worked that out.
    Your 1 800W fan heater is already going to draw 8-9A when it comes on (unless you have various lower power settings).
    And then comes the rest, filters, lights, pumps etc.

    Would be nice if landlord could install a proper SWA cable in a trench, but if not and you have to go the extension route, buy yourself a proper extension. Best would be 2.5 sqmm, or at least 1.5 sqmm, don't fall for the label saying 'industrial heavy duty' and then it is only 1sqmm wires.
    Good luck.

    My bad, worked it out on a previous heater that i was going to use that makro sells. Worked it out again.

    Heater - 1800 watt / 900 watt
    Air pump - 60 watt
    Lights - 90 watt (10 watt x 9) (LED)

    then ocational 40 watt water pump that will feed sprinkler system with old water from fishroom.

    So in that case it will be 10 amp max load...

    Makro sells panel heaters for about 300/400 its a 400 watt ceramic type. Will that heater do anything for that small room?

    Very weird weather and wind we are having.

    Went into the fishroom and closed the door behind me, and could feel a difference. No breeze, and it seems warmer inside. Previously the room inside was colder than outside. Still early to say, but insulation seems to work well, or seel up all the places thatt had draughts...

    Place was like a swiss cheese when i first set foot in it. Holes everywhere..

    And yes, for winter i will be painting the roof black, and summer cover the roof...

    Not 100% sure weather my entire system will be economical, but only time will tell...
