Potch is another story altogether dude... Speak to Chris (SADE). I think Potch water is a LOT harder than Joburg water. That is why Chris keeps his guys in an RO/tap water mixture. The water coming out of my tap is way different to the water coming out of your tap.

 

Check with your local monkeypality water guys - take a sample to them and ask them to test it..

Not entirely, I know some shops that have a hard time selling small specimens, slightly larger specimens are even harder, because people see that they can get slightly larger.... a big one would near impossible to sell, because nobody would have the space...

Hi. I have a 600l tank. I had 50 neon tetra's. Then I added a pai of sailfin MOLLIES. Now I have much less Tetra's. The mollies attack them every time I feed. I am battling to get get good plant. Around here the p-shops onley keep plastic plants or nothing at all.
I am trying to get pics on the web but am having a hard time. Not many guys around Lloyds Baai that can help.

I have to add zebra danios I know they are not a problem always but I got 6 of them thursday and in 3 days they killed 4 guppies from severe tail nipping and one marbled hatchet so those R36 zebras caused R85 damage before returning them.

 

Actually, Zebra's are quite ideal as newbie fish - hardy, active and quite pretty.

However, like you stated, they can be a bit aggressive. What happened with you could have been avoided if you did some homework though - zebras do ocasionally nipe long-finned species, and they don't always enjoy sharing the upper layers of the tank with other fish.

 

Info like that would have helped alot when i stared out I do have 3 scissor tail rasboras that are abs stunning fish they occasionally chase the other fish but this is minimal i mean like for a few seconds and then leave them alone the rest of the day but those danios chased the fish almost non stop. Its threads like this that can really help people out alot
