I'm getting my other half into fish (she had goldfish that I now keep in more ideal quarters)

I don't live with her so it's no issue lol. Piranha are quite skittish for the most part unless a schooling species

My other half has no interest in aquariums. The only interest she has, is when I sit and watch my fish, she wants to sit next to me and spend some time together.

Another thing I heard about piranhas, if you give them big enough space, they can generate enough speed and swim through the glass.

any thick large fish will. In bigger tanks they won't get as spooked, and putting decor at the ends helps prevent it from hitting glass

    Fresh is easier and cheaper.

Yes that is true but we could go to the sea every month to collect water and maybe some fish for the fish tank for marine
But the freshwater can hold more fish and more plants
    Such a hard decision
BTW this is a long term project the fish tank alone will be done in about 4-7 weeks
