First attempt at a planted tank

@Dirkpelser i just use normal aquariun gravel but a very fine swiming pool pump like sand. @oscar freak can tell you what he used in his guppy tank

Thanks, actually I cant post a pic now as the tank needs some aquascaping, but I will be doing it either this saturday or sunday and then on sunday night I will post some pics. I am going to remove all the fake ornaments and put in some aquarium rocks and some wood to get that natural effect.

I bought some rocks at Loolilock over the weekend for R50, so I still need to get some wood, but not like that piece I gave you, I want something like a dark type of wood.

Any suggestions on what I can do with the tank?

good start. you just need to learn your plants to know what plants are foreground, midground and background plants

 

As @Ryno said , I think you need to reposition. Maybe move some plants to the back.

Thanks for the advise. I want to rescape this weekend, i want to go and buy some wood and more rocks and change the whole look. Any advise is appreciated!?

What should i move and do that will look best?

 

i have alooottttt of extra plants after my new 2,4m setup. i can sell you some at a good price also. keep the stem plants at the back and trim them and replant to create lush bushes. rocks and wood is not that easy to advice. everybody has their own taste

plants growing nicely there,ja was gonna say you need some hardscape in there and just move around some of the plants,where's the clown loaches?

 

I have rescapped everything and it looks much better. I added some rocks and wood to the setup. The clowns are still in there. In the old setup they all squeezed into a pipe like ornament but now they hide in between the plants and rocks. I will load a pic tonight.
