    Kinda makes you miss dale:blink1:

    2. possibly; Bacopa lanigera
    7. hygrophila corymbosa
    8. confirmed, green blur
    18. is Alternanthera reinecki (immersed growth)

    1. I would go with; Vallisneria marmor
    6.micranthemum umbrosum
    13. Bacopa caroliniana(I asume this is the tips that have been replanted)
    19. you are correct its emmersed growth(hence flowers)
    23. leaved are too large to be Hemianthus micranthemoides

    16. higher light availability
    15. lower light younger/less established when planted

    hope this helps..

    Thanks man, i was hoping you would reply, i haven't yet taken this topic to apsa, was thinking you'd come along eventually :D

    Bacopa lanigera - leaves are too thin and soft to be that, i looked at a few spec photos, the lanigera looks succulent-ish,
    [IMG]
    This is a thin leaf, looking very closely it looks like it has very fine white specles over the leaf, maybe "hairy" but i don't think it fits the bill.

    green blur - I did attach a better, clearer pic, see second attachment

    I asume this is the tips that have been replanted - You assume correctly:)

    I also bought some 'bunch' plants today, noname brand...

    i think one is Hygrophila difformis
    looks like this->

    and then the other i dunno what it is, looks like lettuce, lol, varigated
    ->

    Man I'm jealous, some of the pics on this thread show the most gorgeous planted tanks. I find decent plants quite hard to find, and my knowledge of them is very poor indeed. I have a theory on the blacklisting though - if I buy it from a LFS and it's illegal I am seriously unlikely to know. So I never, ever, pour my tank water anywhere other than into my garden. This means that it is nigh-on impossible for anything to get from my tank into the local water supply. Does anyone have thoughts on this? And where in Joburg can I get decent (clean!) plants?

    i pour my tank water into the garden outside my grannyflat, all i still need is to find out where to buy like, 12mm dia. tubing, so i can directly siphon water into the garden.

    I got most of my wonderful additions from f-fish after he did a woeste tank trimming session, so i was lucky enough in that respect, but the other plants i've bought from a small LFS, Pet a Pond, on Lynnwood road in the Willows, and Animal Kingdom in Atterbury.

    btw, the platies and i think a ninja ramshorn thats not supposed to be in the main tank, has been munching away on the lettuce looking plant, so yeah, not much of it left. luckily they leave everything else alone, well, sorta, ... every now and then i see the bigger platy pecking at an alternanthera leaf, or something elese i dont want pecked at, but for now, i'll leave them be, just need to get the friggin canopy built so i can buy better lights, but the main house painting has come to a little standstill, so for now, i wait and safe up money...

    With better lighting i'm sure the plant growth will pick up, then i'll think of going all green thumb on the tank. Wish i had another 3ft though.
