My tank complete water is neardy 1000L and i use only one jagter heater 300w.
it is 25.5'C and the water is around 25-25.3'C winter(with polystyerne) and summer 25.5-26'C(without polystyerne)

I use 300watt jagers in my large display tanks and one 200watt in one of my grow out tanks. I find them super accurate. The rest of my tanks I use via-aqua. The are very affordable, pretty accurate and I think the quality of via-aqua is better than dophin.

Doug, I have a jäger and juwel 300w heater. IMO the juwel has nothing on the jäger, but the jäger will not fit in standard juwel bio flow filters.

I use a jäger in the tank and the juwel for water changes.

In that case I wouldn't even consider the juwel. Seems to be the same quality as cheaper heaters on the market. Rather spend on eheim.

I've had about 8 heaters in my tanking career, my new tank now I fitted these at R395 per heater,
Let me tell you all! The Eheim Jager 300W heater is BY FAR! and I mean BY FAR! The best/most consistent/ Probably the most enviromentaly friendly on your elec bill I've ever touched. Doesn't shift the temp at all!
It just amazes me how the temp sticks! And they hardly do much work.

@Lparisi the calibrating is shown in the paper you got with the jager, but i used a spare tank, set the heater to spesified heat and check when the heater shuts off whats the tank temp, then you adjust the red part to the corect temp on top of the heater, worked for me. I calibrated both my 300w jagers and temp shows perfect.

The only crit I have of the 300watt jager is that is staets for aquariums from 600 - 1000 litres, yet it cannot keep my +-650 litre tank at 26'C during winter without help from a backup heater. Since it has started getting warmer in Cape Town, I have removed the back-up and only use the Jager and it keeps the water at 26'C easily.

@PopGun. What @Tiger barb says is true I've Also found that a single 300w can only get my 720l tank to max 28deg. I've had to add a heater to get the temp closer to 30deg for my clown loaches. These eheim heaters are just not up to the job.

I use 2 300w and 1 200w and another brand 100w in my tank. I still need to do a bit of insulation as they are only barely managing :p

I can't comment on 1, I decided on 2 300w's from the start. But if that's the case..... Than ill watch out for it. I might even do a test with 1 of my 300w's. I think they are the bomb so far. Ok 2 does make it easy, and if 1 says it can do 1000liters, which I thought tbh is asking a lot from a heater. 2 for me grafts very well. Sux balls if they don't tho

i'm actually glad you decided on 2 from the beginning, i think in winter you would need 2, but in summer i'm sure one will be more than enough :)

i have to agree that i was sorely disappointed that they didnt live up to the hype, if it cant heat 720L, how is it still gonna manage to do the specified 1000L?

lol i was jsut thinking the same thing!!
